Which semester should I use my AP credit on?

I'm about to start my first year of college as a Computer Science major and I have an AP credit for Psychology which fulfills a breadth requirement. Any advice for which semester will be the hardest/which one should I not take a breadth requirement? This is the course curriculum for all four years http://tinyurl.com/3pzayyb (general elective 1 is Intro Engineering).

I would use it during one of the semesters where you’ll be taking a lab, i.e. spring of your freshman or sophomore year. That way you’ll be taking only 14 credits instead of 17.

use it first semester of your freshman year. This is a lot of adjustment in going to college. Having a lighter workload while trying to adjust and make friends can be very helpful. This will give you a semester to find your sea legs.

just my opinion…

My personal recommendation (being a computer science major), if you are planning to stick to this curriculum somewhat, the hardest semester (though it can vary depending on the student) will be fall sophomore year. Discrete Math at this school is very difficult, unless you get lucky with your professor. Fall Sophomore year also throws you into your first real in-depth CompSci Course in CISC 220 - Data Structures, a difficult course in CISC260 - Machine Language, and most likely a work-intensive course depending on what lab. science you take. Good Luck, and meet with your advisors when you get the chance, they really help!
