off period (would help me with a job the most)
I would love this schedule so much as i would have a chill year

i have a 3.96 GPA and just scared about admissions cause i know that colleges look at the classes your taking senior year and want you to have a rigor schedule. But my junior year was so stressful with just 2 ap classes and 2 honors with NO JOB so i kinda want a break

take the first one, btw that’s only 2 math classes…

Okay yeah i think i will. Thanks. At first i had ap bio but i switched it to ap stats because i think that ap bio would be too much. I took 2 science classes last year and i want a break from science this year. And actually computer science falls under the math category! I know weird right? i

It depends where you’re aiming for. If you’re not looking at “top” schools, the second schedule will be fine. Especially because you’re filling the time gap with something (job) and not just sitting around.

Pick the one you think you will be able to handle and excel in. On these boards it seems to the the consensus that AP stats is one of the easier APs (I thought the ap test was fine and got a 5, not even a fan of math), but at my school it was one of the most difficult APs because it required many practice problems which were kind of time consuming when doing homework. Stats is slightly more logical than computational, but if you are good at math you should be able to handle it.

Don’t underestimate the time commitment of a job and if it is too much just drop the course. I have to admit, I am not a big fan of free periods during the day (unless you are leaving early for a job or another commitment) because my own personality which believes that an extra 45 minutes of free time won’t make that much of a difference if you are being productive.

I personally hated how I stressed myself out junior and senior year (4 APs in each), but I am glad that I was able to get credit for those courses. Basically, ask yourself, what is the purpose of taking that class? Is it worth it to you? What colleges are you thinking of and how do they consider the credit? 1 AP will not make or break you in the long run, you have an increasing trend of taking more difficult courses. Doing well in those courses will help you, but sacrificing your grades or well being won’t. You know yourself better than anyone else. Good luck.

P.S. Sorry if it seems like I went back and forth in this: personal recommendation is to go with the added course and if it becomes stressful after the first two weeks, drop the class before the deadline and go with a backup one. But if planning to drop, don’t be peer pressured into staying if it is really that bad.

Okay thanks. I didnt want to take the 4 aps and drop one because i know colleges wouldnt like to see that. So thats what i feared because i already dropped an ap class my sophomore year. My job is very time consuming and tiring so i dont know. I think that i could handle and excel in the 2nd one the most obvisously. AP classes are tons of work so im still not sure.
