Hi guys.

I received some Christmas money and am planning to reuse it to retake either the SAT I or the SAT II subject tests. I'm applying to selective schools, and going around CC and reading these superbly-scoring individuals being rejected made me nervous. My scores are as follows.

SAT I: 2020 (700R 690M 630W)
SAT II: Math II (680) Literature (800) Physics (660)

While I realize that the admission process holistically reviews a candidate (or, it supposedly does), and am quite confident in my academics and ECs, but I want to take every opportunity available to me.

So, which one would you guys recommend me to retake?

There’s really not enough info to respond properly… Most importantly, are you a senior? So, is this your last chance to retake? And second, what schools in particular did you apply to, and for what major? Every school places different emphasis on these tests. Also, did you take any AP tests? Good scores on those could possibly make up for low Subject Tests.
However, based just on the info you’ve provided, I’d say go with the SAT I. While all of your scores (excluding Lit) are fairly low for top schools, most will value the SAT a lot higher.

I am a senior, and being such, this is indeed my last chance to take the test.
So far, I have taken 6 APs, planning on 5 more this year, and have gotten 4s across the board.
Here are the schools I have applied to: UCB, UCLA, Yale, USC, MIT, Harvard, Columbia, Brown, Princeton, and Stanford.

While I know that test scores are impactful on a candidate’s application, my second interviewer from Yale informed me that I was borderline (this was for QuestBridge NCM). So, although I was deferred admission in that group, I am feeling better about my chances in the regular decision pool.

Thank you for the input, though.
