So I retook the SAT in February and did very poorly. I’m pretty sure that I marked in the wrong column or something, because I was getting 800’s through old real tests. But water under the bridge now. I did worse in every subject compared to hs besides one section. In hs score was ~2k. Should I send the old ones from hs or the new ones? Or superscore it? I’m applying to top 20 schools. I don’t want colleges to think that I haven’t improved. Pretty lost need guidance.
You have the choice to send in your best score, the highest the better and the old scores wouldn’t matter because they will only see the one score you picked for them to see. You also have the option to retake the SAT as many times as you want until you get a score that satisfies you (before you send in your college application of course). Also remember that there’s a huge competition out there so in the top 20 schools, students probably scored higher than 2000 , I wouldn’t send in anything lower than that unless your gpa, extracurriculars activities, and essay alone makes you a good candidate already.
I would suggest broadening your selection to include safety and match schools.
