Which should I take for premed at NYU?

So I really want to go to NYU, and so far I think I am on the right track. I have a 3.8 weighted GPA and one AP test (AP World History) where I got a 5. I am in my sophomore year and taking APUSH, Honors Algebra 2, English 10, a medical class, Spanish 3, and AP Bio. I want to go into pre medicine and study neurology. For junior year I definitely want to take AP Calculus AB, AP English Lit, another medical class, IB Chemistry, and AP Micro/Macro. I was wondering what to do with that last credit. Should I take AP Psychology or Spanish 4? Psychology is more related to my field of interest but Spanish looks good too. Does anyone have any advice?

Taking four years a foreign language looks best. I don’t believe NYU requires it, but many elite schools do.

A bigger question is why wd u bother going to NYU if u are premed. U shd be conserving money for med school.

  1. Look online at the HS courses required for NYU (and other schools you are considering). If 3 years of foreign language is fine, then take whichever class you prefer. If you need 4 years of foreign language for any college you want to apply to, then that is your answer.
  2. It is November and way too early to think about scheduling for next year. Wait until the schedule comes out, see if the times/teachers for one is more attractive, see what fits in with the other classes you need to your schedule and then decide. No need to stress for months about it.

Better idea to take 4 years of language for colleges in general. And you really don’t have to mold your application for ‘pre-med.’ It’s not even a real major to begin with.
