So, there is two people hoping to attend the USNA from my High School, me and another guy. Basically the Naval Academy only accepts one and it's a stretch for two. If we equalled grades, recommendations, etc., which activities would be "better" for the Academy? Generally info for any college regarding extracurriculars will help.

It isn’t true that only 1 of you can get accepted, whoever told you that is misinformed. Do the things you enjoy in h.s. and/or feel you can contribute to your school’s success. It is less of being able to ‘check the right boxes’ and more about what you accomplished in total in h.s. that the academy is interested in.

Participate in physically demanding sports to get in the best possible shape. No one here knows which sports get more WCS points, so isn’t worth the effort trying to find the magical formula for acceptance.

I would also like to state that the Academy values leadership positions within the sports you participate. I would also echo the sentiments of the other post by saying two students from the same high school can be selected to attend, happened with my son and his buddy. It’s not that uncommon.
