I am going to be an upcoming junior, and the colleges I will be applying for will require 2/3 SAT Subject Tests. I was wondering which 3 subject tests to take? I will definitely take Math II next year. I am thinking about taking physics, but is physics I honors knowledge enough to make a 800 on the SAT II? I will be taking physics II senior year, but wouldn't that be too late to send the scores to colleges? I am also considering taking US History SAT next year, but how difficult is it to get a 800? I don't think my English is good enough to take the Lit SAT, and I can't really take a foreign language. What 3 SATs would you recommend? The goal is 800. Thanks!

1) Math II
2) USH – It’s supposedly the easiest SAT II, and if you take it after AP US, you should be able to do very well
3) ? – Ok, this one will be a bit trickier to decide. Physics is one of the hardest SAT IIs, so if you want to take it, I would suggest either self-teaching or taking on online course on the AP curriculum. If you won’t do that, I would suggest Lit, but getting an 800 on Lit is nearly impossible.

sirensong, thank you for replying!

physics-- i heard it was hard too but would that mean that the curve is consequently higher? for the physics, how much preparation is adequate? next year i’ll take a physics honors but the teacher’s supposedly a joke and so is the course

should i buy an ap textbook to prepare for it? perhaps i could take the october 2010 one and study next summer? i’m willing to do whatever to get an 800

thank you once again!

You could self study Bio. That’s really easy. For your 3rd choice that is.

That’s a really good idea.

thanks for the suggestion but i’m staying far away from biology; biology’s my worst subject
:(

If you can’t do Bio or Chem, I guess physics…but I wouldn’t rule out biology. I know several people who are just ok at bio and through self studying received good scores.

There’s no way you could possibly do poorly on Bio if you read some review books.
