Which SUNY is most rigorous?

Binghamton and Buffalo are the SUNYs I am applying to as safety.

Binghamton?

Stony Brook is extremely underrated for science, especially pre-med, however for business i think buffalo is better

I would say Stonybook and Binghamton..HANDS DOWN..the rest are kinda...just there

I always thought Bing is the best SUNY for business and Stony Brook is better for the sciences.

What about Albany? I applied to both Albany, Buffalo, and Stony Brook. Which do you think is better for Biology?

generallly
1. bing
2. stony
3. buffalo/albany

but for the sciences
1. stonybrook
2. everything else

for biology = stonybrook

admission to stonybrook is easy but maintaining good grades there is hard. the cirriculum is actually quite challenging.

Thanks. I guess if I get accepted to my SUNY picks, I'll pick Stony Brook. Although, I don't know what to pick if I get accepted to all the schools I applied to (probably not happening). I still have Rutgers New Brunswick, Penn State (Univ Park and Altoona), UMass Amherst, OSU Colorado, NYU (for the hell of it) and JHU (for the hell of it).

No Geneseo, chibifry??

no Geneseo
Its not good

I was shocked to find out that Geneseo's average SAT (1252) is 90 points higher than James Madision's which seems to have a more universially accepted rep.

Geneseo is one of the top SUNY, chibifry....

I'm applying to Stony Brook and Binghamton (as far as SUNY schools go). They are great schools. However, I do consider those my safety schools (what with all of the Ivy league schools I've applied to!!) Good luck to everyone!!

How do people allow themselves to go to Binghamton? Its in the middle of nowhere...maybe its because I'm a NYC boy. Albany has a top ranked economics program...just found out yesterday.

Binghamton is a pretty reputable SUNY school. Location isn't 100% of what prospective applicants should consider. Yeah, I think it is just b/c you're a NYC boy, lol. I'm a LI boy, and it seems fine to me. Good luck to everyone! :)

Good luck to you, too. I really hope I get in Stony Brook. If I get in Rutgers too, I'll have a very hard decision to make...

Although I'm forgetting I also applied to PSU. Decisions decisions...

Thanks funkdoc. Since I got deferred at Harvard, it's making the Regular Decision applications that much mroe stressful!! I should have applied to some other schools Early Action/Decision... and perhaps some rolling admissions. The security that comes with knowing that you're in some place must be very reassuring. That's what I was hoping for w/ Harvard. Being deferred is like being left in limbo. They leave you hanging, and all you have is a small rate of acceptance to cosider (which is not the most reassuring thing at all)! Oh well, guess I'll have to wait until April huh ;) !

Ranking the SUNYs:
1. Binghamton
2. Geneseo
2. Stony Brook/Buffalo
3. SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry
4. Albany (worst quality of life of all 20 SUNYs though)
5. Purchase/New Paltz (I'm sorry New Paltz is a bit of a bias :))
6. Oswego
7. Oneonta

I'm not particular on any of the rest except I do know Cortland and Cobleskill.

I think Oswego is worse than oneonta...

Cre8tive1, what do you mean by "worst quality of life"? Can you be more specific?
