I know absolutely n-o-t-h-i-n-g about the SUNY schools. Which is the most rigorous? Which has the best undergraduate business program? Thanks for your help.

Go to a private school if at all possible. None of the SUNY schools are really all that good.

I appreciate your honesty. Suggestions for other business programs that do not require Ivy-caliber credentials but will be challenging for an honors student and are located on a true campus?

Penn State Smeal is a good business program...ranked around 12 or 14 and not too competitive to get into.

uconn and syracuse

GENESEO and Binghamton

Check out Northeastern. But otherwise only consider SUNY Binghamton and SUNY Buffalo. Bing for the name and the actual rigor of the education, and Buff for the alumni connections. If you check the SUNY booklet, Buff has the most impressive list of notable alumni with many being CEOs of huge corporations.

I think SUNY Buffalo has the best business program in the SUNY system.

stony brook is one of the most underrated schools in america for science. imo its by far the best suny

binghamton and stony brook are the best suny's, with buffalo trailing a little behind.

I could of sworn the most under rated SUNY was Geneseo. I hear they rival many Private second tier colleges in overall studies. Anyway Bing is also up there thoug i here the town sucks beyond belief. Funny how I got accepted to NYU but rejected from EA Binghamton, not sure If I should be happy or embarrassed...

I've heard that Geneseo is pretty rigorous (of course, it's what you make of it as well) and is one of the most selective SUNYs if not the most selective. Geneseo is mainly recognized for its education program; I'm not sure where it stands on business.

None of the SUNY schools are that good? Come on now.

For business, I'd recommend Binghamton. I have a few friends doing accounting/business there right now. You'd probably want to stick with the University centers and not the LAC's with that major. :)

Geneseo; Binghamton for certain majors.

geneseo and binghamton are considered 'the best' at my school. Buffalo is up there as well, especially for business. There were 600 in my graduating class and i cant recall anybody that went to stony brook.

Geneseo is first-rate, Binghamton, Stony Brook, Buffalo and New Paltz are decent.

Rigorous vs. Prestigious--- difference?

In some cases there is a difference. For example NYU's Sterm is prestigous b/c of its rigor and acclaims. Geneseo on the other hand is rigerous but has anyone outside of NY heard of it? Presitgous is Ive League and not all Ivies may have the rigor in every single area, especially with the fail/pass classes and in other cases, grade inflation

Good point, tangents.

hmmm, it appears that the thread title asks for rigor. I'd have to say binghamton for that one.
