Which Tax Non-Filer Statement Do I submit

Hi.
Harvard requires an IDOC packet. I do not file tax returns and thus I have to submit a Tax Non-Filer Statement. The IDOC website has a version of the said statement and Harvard’s website has another. Which do I submit? Or do I submit both?

@Crystalline-asa - because you are submitting this on CB’s IDOC website, I think you should go with their version. Because Harvard accepts the IDOC, they will accept IDOC’s version. FYI - I am not sure what the different versions are.

Yes, that makes sense. Thank you :slight_smile: btw Harvard’s version is on their website

Hello assuming you’re an international student. Harvard sent this email about the aid application and I think it answers your question;

Hello Applicant,

We’re writing to remind you of the steps you should take to complete your application for aid.

By this point, you should have already submitted the CSS Profile and will now have access to IDOC in order to upload your remaining materials. If you have not already submitted the CSS Profile, you should do so as soon as possible.

The next step is to gather together your financial aid materials and upload them via IDOC. (You may even have already started - if so, good for you!) IDOC is not smart enough to know every document that you may need to submit - please review the full list of required documents on our website.

Tips:

If you and/or your parents file an income tax document for 2015 in your country, you should submit this to IDOC (along with all pages and schedules). We are looking for the document that details income, not the Notice of Assessment that is often returned to you by the government.
Please translate your documents to English. This does not need to be done by an official translator. Most students will write the translation directly onto the document themselves.
If your parents do not file a tax document in your country, you should submit a Tax Non-Filer Statement and copies of whatever documentation they do have, such as a wage statement or a letter from their employers detailing annual income. You can find a Tax Non-Filer Statement in IDOC, or on our website. Either form is OK to submit.

IDOC is not smart enough to recognize tax documents from every country. If you have read through our instructions and submitted everything that applies to you, then you can ignore documents that may still be listed as ‘missing’ on IDOC. If you are admitted, our officers will review your materials to make sure they fulfill our requirements and reach out if we need more information.

We will accept your completed application whenever it arrives, but submitting by our listed deadlines gives us the best chance of providing you with a financial aid decision at the time of admission.

Since the financial aid and admissions processes are separate, financial aid documents will not show up on your Admissions Portal and we are not able to track financial aid materials until after admissions decisions have been made. If you are admitted and we find we are missing something, we will reach out at that point. Given the volume of material we are receiving, we are not able to let you know the status of your application for aid before that time.

As always, feel free to be in touch by email or phone with any questions,
Hope that helped. Sorry it’s long
