Which test should I attempt to self study?

I’m a junior from Michigna who really wants to go to UC Berkeley. I’ve just learned about UC policy for requiring world history and I have been written out of that course in my school in replacement with Ap Us Govt and IB HL Psychology. Now the easiest way I’ve figured out for me to get this credit would probably be to get a study book and take the Ap word or euro history or human geography tests and get a 3. So do you guys have an opinion on which one of these I should attempt with? Also would it be easiest to take the SAT 2 world history test and get a 540?

According to my kids, Human Geo (a freshman class) was the easiest AP test, and Euro was the most difficult. My kids had hit-n-miss teachers in Human Geo, and an incredible teacher for Euro. For them, it boiled down to test difficulty and dryness of subject material. The book “Guns, Germs and Steel” was also recommended summer reading prior to taking Human Geo, but you can find a free viewing of the documentary online. Good luck!

You can also register for a world history class in a community college this spring, or this summer, or next year to meet the requirement.

Im Aware of that, I just knew this community had lots of information on AP classes if that was the route I was going to follow.

As someone who has had experience with all three, I will rank them in order of difficulty ( from least to highest) 1) Human Geo 2) World 3) Euro. However, just because one is easiest, does not mean it is the most desirable. Colleges are generally aware AP Human Geo is notoriously easy. However, to one that has not taken extensive Western Civ courses or does not have prior experience, AP Euro is slightly harder due to the requirements for specifics. I would strongly recommend you self study AP World. It is less dense and the material is far more interesting. If you need advice on prep books for any, I would be happy to help.

AP Statistics because of the quality online resources or AP Lang because of how little extra you actually need to know from previous English courses.

Hi @Waterborne that’s entirely unhelpful I’d suggest in future posts you read the post to respond to my thoughts on world history classes not math or english thanks.

@history1000 I kinda doubt Berkeley would care about the difficulty of the extra exam I took to get a certain credit especially because my current course load could definitely not be more difficult. But do you have tips on study materials for human geo? or specifics on what I should make sure I know?

If you’re just self-studying, Barron’s or Princeton Review is the way to go. Though I prefer Barron’s for the subject. The book may be a little dense, but it covers absolutely everything you should know for the exam. If I were you, I’d also practice one or two FRQs off the CB’s website just to understand the way they work and are scored. You seem smart, so I am sure you will do fine!
