I plan on retaking either the SAT Reasoning or Subject Tests in December. I have taken the Reasoning twice and Subject once (Nov, so I dont have the scores yet). Here are the scores that I know (best for each section):

Verbal: 660
Math: 610
Writing: 680

I do not feel I did well on the Subject tests, mainly Math II (took lit. as well). There are my projected scores:

Math II: 500-570
Literature: 550-630

I am applying to several schools with deadlines of Jan. 1 so I only have time to take the SAT once more. Only two of my five schools even consider Subject Test scores (BU and NYU), and both of these take ACT's in place of Subject Tests (which I do not have my results for yet).

I feel that I can reach 640-680 on Math if I retake the reasoning, and a little better on the other two sections as well, but I am mainly looking to improve math. I didn't prepare nearly as much as I should have for the subject tests, and feel I can reach somewhere in the 600+ range with these as well if I prepare thoroughly for them.

Anyone have any advice on which test I should retake?

are you sure NYU takes ACT in place of subject tests? This is what I found on NYU's website:

"All students, except for those noted below, are also required to submit two SAT Subject Tests (formerly known as "SAT II" tests). This requirement does not apply to those students applying for programs in our Tisch School of the Arts or for the studio art or for any of the music programs in our Steinhardt School of Education. (Note that students applying to programs in Steinhardt that do not require an audition or portfolio are required to submit two SAT Subject Test scores.) The purpose of providing SAT Subject Test scores is to assist us in determining how well prepared you are for college-level work, which is, of course, similar to the reason we ask visual and performing arts students to provide a portfolio or perform an audition."

You already have OK SAT scores but the subject test scores are uncertain. If you really think you did poorly, you should probably take the subject tests. However, it can be hard to predict SAT 2 scores.

my stats were like yours before [and school list] i decided to take the SAT reasoning again though and it was the best decision ever.. subject tests are a supplement to a good record i think the SAT I is the primary thing that gets their attention.. but of course, its ur decision in the end.
