That is my profile, other than my GPA I feel I am strong in all other aspects. In the colleges listed, in the link above, are any forgiving of lower gpas?
Note: I am not asking the top 50 school’s leniency for prestige, I want a good research/pre-med/science school. I just really messed up 1 year, which led me to not have a rigorous course load, and I regret it deeply as my school has very strict pre reqs for ap and honors
Hmm your UW doesn’t look too bad for NCSU. Your SAT looks great. They like high test scores there. They are strong in science (I don’t know specifically about med school). They aren’t top 50 but aren’t too far below that.

If that is truly what you care about, then you shouldn’t be thinking much about reaches. The honors colleges at many public (many of whom are STEM research powerhouses) can provide as good an experience in that area as the reachy colleges.

Agree, you don’t need a top name to find the empowering program for you, with profs who are doing important work and open to undergrads getting involved.
What have you done for your local community? What shows you want so very much to help people and so you actually roll up your sleeves and get out there, work in health or with the needy? That’s not tutoring one kid or shadowing. Or random service through a club. Or doing independent research projects.
Show, not just tell.
And for top colleges, it matters what courses got the non-A grades, not…just…GPA.
If you are looking for good schools that don’t care about GPAs and you aren’t concerned about financial aid, then it’s worth considering the UK. They like lots of 5s on APs but your SAT IIs can substitute at many places. However, you may end up with an offer conditional on getting 5s in your senior year APs.
Your GPA is low for any “top” schools, as you already know. I can’t think of any where you are likely to have any luck. Start focusing on love for your matches & safeties. They may be a better path to med school anyway.
@Twoin18, however, for an American who wants to go down the pre-health/pre-med path, the UK isn’t a good option as almost no courses (other than Medicine, which an American essentially wouldn’t be able to get in to anyway) contain the collection of undergraduate classes required by American med schools, and I don’t think they recognize classes outside the US and Canada anyway.
Canada is an option, but likely wouldn’t make more sense than American publics.
As college admissions tend to be quite opaque, I don’t think anyone can answer your question. All you can do is continue to do well and apply. On the one hand the worst that will happen is you’ll spend a lot of money and get rejected. Note the sun will still come up. On the other hand with your record, you get accepted at safeties and matches and find out that the school you pick will offer you the resources and opportunities you are seeking. Good luck.
I have a family friend who teaches at Brown and a friend of a family friend who teaches at princeton. They know me pretty well, I guess and relaize that I have potential. Would it be wise to reach out to them or does it look to “desperate” (I don’t want to be pressuring or annoying to them).
It’s not “potential.” It’s actual performance. Plus the right balance and challenge in ECs.
OP needs to understand wat those targets are looking for, the whole of it.
Can you please explain to me what they look for, or how they judge? No one in my family has been to a US school or uni and I am the oldest child. I have literally no one to ask as my gc is very busy
These are reaches. They are supposed to be places that you really don’t expect to have much of a chance to be admitted at. So, pick the ones you like, and go ahead and apply. If you are a NYS resident, Cornell Ag & Life Sciences, or Human Ecology would serve your goals perfectly well, and traditionally have been easier to get into than Arts & Sciences.
What is your budget like? Have you looked at any of the women’s colleges?
