<p>Most people assume that asians are only the chinese/japanese sort (Which I believe is stupid). Do colleges seem to differentiate between countries? Such as China and India/Bangladesh? </p>
<p>If you were to apply to Harvard being either a chinese, or an Indian/Bangladeshi, who would have a upper hand, assuming that both grades and EC's are virtually the same?</p>
<p>They probably don’t distinguish that much unless they are accepting them as international students and not as just a background/race.</p>
<p>It varies at colleges depending on whether they practice Affirmitive Action or not.
At Harvard I would assume that it would be the same.</p>
<p>Both are very overrepresented at top colleges. Less represented are Vietnamese.</p>
