Hey guys, so currently I am going onto my Junior Year of high school and I would appreciate it if you could appraise me and forecast my admissions. I know I'm not giving you much to look at, but perhaps you could tell me if I'm on the right path for a good school. Thank you very much for the help!

So far, it has gone like this for me:
GPA:
Overall = 3.5 Unweighted, 3.9 Weighted.
Tenth grade classes:
English 2 P
Algebra 2
Spanish 2
PE
AP European History
AP Environmental Science.

Finished Spanish 3 over the summer.

Junior Year Classes (upcoming now):
AP Chemistry (2 periods)
AP Statistics
AP Computer Science
AP U.S. History
IB English 3
Math Analysis

Extracurriculars:
Founder and president of Chess Club
Track and Field (Shot Put/Discuss)
Manager for football
Invest in stock for profit (as my source of income)
I signed up as a math tutor for this year.
Hopefully I can sign on with a good volunteer program this year.

So, what I would like to know from you guys is: What UC am I on track for, which will be harder for me to get accepted to, and what areas I need improvement in to get into the two big ones (UCLA and CAL). Thanks again folks, see you in the replies section!

If you end up with a 3.9 UC GPA by the end of the year and do well on your SAT/ACT, you have an okay shot at Riverside and good shot at Merced. If you get a 4.0+, you should also have a shot at Santa Cruz and maybe Santa Barbara.

Good luck!

Merced and Riverside? Hmmm, I thought I was at least Davis material. I know of a person who had a 3.5 weighted (yes, weighted) and got into Davis.

First, I think you should focus on doing well your junior year rather than being focused on “x” college that you want to go to

But anyways
I think if you keep your grades up in junior yr you are probably in at merced in riverside (safeties possibly)

Also, I think you match to irvine, and possibly high match/low reach at davis

CAL and UCLA will be high reaches, but if you do very well on the sats they could become low reaches

Well it seems that the general consensus is that I need to maintain my grades; but what if I can land all A’s this semester? Would the better UC’s become a possibility for me?

I agree with the other’s about maintaining grades but you definitely will get into Merced, Riverside and Santa Cruz with your grades. You have a good shot at Davis and Irvine. Santa Barbara and San Diego would be reached and Cal and LA will be high reaches unless you can get a high SAT score and bring your GPA up. College acceptance can be pretty random at times (especially because of holistic review) so just relax and focus on doing well your junior year

Thanks for the post brendan115. So, realistically, if I can crank out all A’s this year (which will give a 4.5 weighted and bring my overall high school gpa to 4.2), will the better UCs become a possibility?

By the way everyone is welcome to keep chancing me.

Any other advice? (This is a form of a bump right here)
