Which UCs are Easiest for Out-of-State Admissions?

Which UCs are most open to out of state applicants? I am really interested in UCSC. I know that berkeley is near impossible, but what about the others? If I was in-state, I think I would have the scores and ECs for all of them, so that isn’t a problem.

Of the 8 campuses, UCSC is the 6th in selectiveness, followed only by Riverside and Merced.

Due to budget cuts, it is now slightly easier to get into the UCs as OOS, but still more difficult than in state residents.

Have you considered trying a private college - with the budget cuts, you will be paying more and getting less.

Well, I want to go the best school as possible, but also want a place in a large city with good weather. I just looked at UCSC’s ranking and I now know that it probably isnt worth it for out of state. What about UCLA? Is it possible for OOS to get in? It says on college board that it has only 10% of students as out- of - staters.

UCLA is difficult to get into - similar is Berkeley. i am sure you can find the stats.

Consider USC, Loyola Marymount (great weather), Pepperdine, The Claremont Colleges, Redlands or Chapman. Use the search engine on this site to look up CA Private Schools. You might also consider AZ schools. I think they are more friendly to OOS students.

Ranking doesn’t really define a school. It’s what you make of it; my stepbrother graduated UCSC(he was out of state; Virginia) and holds a damn good job and makes six figures a year(4 years after college). I think any UC is a good choice for college.
Most easiest to get into would probably be anywhere except UCSD, UCLA, and UCB.

The easiest would probably be UCR, UCSC, or UCM. UCLA and Berkeley are actually less hard now than they used to be for out of staters.
