Which of these two universities is the most diverse, not only in ethnicity and nationality, but also in religions, ideals, political views, tastes, cultures, and lifestyles?

I have only been on Auburn’s campus a few times. I’ve been on Alabama’s campus many times.

I think Alabama is more diverse. It has a larger African American population. It has a Jewish temple on campus and a Hillel. It is building a larger Catholic church on campus - it outgrew the previous one. It has active Dem, GOP, Green Party, etc groups on campus. It has a Muslim student assoc on campus.

The city of Tuscaloosa is not rural, it is a good-sized city, which I think lends itself to being more cosmopolitan atmosphere and mixture of ethnic groups.
