I'm an intl' student (and have no clue in US history, but MUST take a SAT subject) and I am planning to take the test on Oct. or Nov.
I would like recommendations for a book...
I already have the Princeton Review book but it's really short and they clearly write at the beginning that their book just give outlines of the subject.

I read some good things about AMSCO, but I didn't find anything on Amazon.
I heard Barron's belabors too much..but I'm thinking on buying their AP flashcards.
What do you think ?

I just took APUSH this year, the AP exam, and the Subject test. Get Crash Course and Direct Hits and you should get a 750+ on the Subject test. Good Luck

^I would think that most Int’l are good in math & science, so by performing well on US History, it would show a lot of dedication & stand out from the usual 800 Math/Science that Int’ls tend to have.

I would recommend AMSCO: Preparing for the Advanced Placement US History exam for a thorough review, def. study it well, & then get Crash Course/US History in a Flash (both by Direct Hits publishing) for studying about 2-3 weeks before the exam

Also, here is a good, free site which is actually a US HIST class online. But reading the different units def helps prepare for the SAT if you have a lot of time to look over it!

Practical : French is my native language, and I’ve been living in Israel (so speak Hebrew) since I’m 13. So the Hebrew test won’t impress anyone.

Hey! I live abroad and just got my results for my SAT US History score. I scored a 710 with no prior knowledge. I reviewed a month before with AMSCO, Kaplan for the SAT Subject Test in US History and Direct Hits. Direct hits was by far the most useful.

Taking the subject test is doable. Being an international, just give yourself time to learn and understand the material. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to PM me.
