so that brought me to the question: what is the most unique seed?

papaya seeds are spicy. that is pretty unique for a fruit seed.

Sunflower seeds are the best!!!

When I eat kiwis, the seeds feel like I’m crunching ants or something. So I avoid eating the seeds as much as possible.

P.S. Do bananas have seeds?

the kiwi seeds never bothered me :P. also i read they have a high concentration of ALA i think it is in them, which is a precursor to omega 3’s. it doesn’t convert well, but whatever. so that made me appreciative of them.

I also used to eat prickly pears, this desert fruit pear thing. which has rather hard black seeds, but i don’t mind the crunch.

Note that strawberry seeds are on the outside of the fruit. Eh? Eh?

Mango seeds are enormous!

Avocado seeds are a bit odd as most seeds have a somewhat rough texture but the pit of an avocado is quit smooth and uniform.

Lotus seeds have a bitter center that is green.
Chinese bitter melons have small red seeds that are bitter as well.
You can hard boil jackfruit seeds and eat them. I think same with durian, except a durian has much bigger seeds (and its shell is spicky. Ouch!)
I hate pomegranate seeds, it takes forever to eat them.

Chewing on mangos?!

Bah!

Start chewing on chicken legs and wings (as I have been for the past hour).

I think jackfruit seeds are pretty unique. You can boil and then eat them. They taste like potatoes.

such an interesting thread xD

Lichee (did I spell it right???) seeds - they’re extremely sour.

Pomegranate.

@mathguy: lychee seeds are extremely bitter terrible tasting to me. The fruit itself is delicious, though.

NCAA 16th seed?

Watermelon seeds…they will grow a watermelon in your stomach if you swallow them ;)

When I was little I had nightmares of that happening. True story.

when I was little, my parents always told me that a tree would grow on my head if I ate seeds.

4 bananas have seeds, the ones we buy at the store have been cultivated so they are very tiny and tasteless (they are little brown specks in the middle).

How about the other things that the seeds have been cultivated from, like oranges, watermelons, and grapes. What would you like to see without seeds? I vote for blackberries (I won’t eat them because their seeds are so crunchy). Mangos would be better with smaller seeds, or at least detached ones!

this thread got so many interesting replies :p
