tick. tock. tick. tock.

i always respond too late! my internet is frustrating me and i hope it continues to at least work so i can check my email today!

I am seriously in agony, just reject me so I can move on with my life already!

you don’t think that by end of the week, they include saturday too? i know some gov’t offices are open on saturday, maybe for half a day. i don’t think i can hold over until tomorrow!

I wish they would let us know… Should I send the phone banking team in??? 202.456.1414… lol

aghhh. i got a call from “unknown” and flipped out.
it was the DCCC asking for money.
boo.

Yeah, the security check comes post-selection. I’m pretty sure most people who apply for this sort of program have already self-adjucated themselves (i.e. they know they’re clean, or have put a good faith effort towards being clean, or they would not have bothered applying). I’m sure it won’t be as grueling as the presidential appointment questionnaire. As far as I know, interns rarely “resign” or have to worry about getting confirmed by the Senate either. ;)

The security clearance you’ll need for internships in other departments of government (particularly CIA, FBI, NSA, Defense, State), on the other hand, can take anywhere from 60 days to 9 months…

Besides those who don’t pass checks, there’s also going to be a small group of people who turn down the internship. Either the internship program is going to calculate that group beforehand and accept more than they intend to bring in, or perhaps they’ll have a small group of “waitlisted/alternates”… or maybe they’ll just live without having an intern in their department.

Thanks for the info. I can’t wait. I almost picked up the phone again…I had to use my left hand to stop my right from picking up the receiver.

Good Morning Yall!

So, it feels like my first day of college, with all this waiting for the decision, the anxiety :)

Anyhow, as the President of this beloved forum thread, and with less than 12 hours left (I hope), I am going to be bold and brave and declassify my Identity, haha.

I am a junior year engineering student from Auburn University. While my studies are purely technical, my passions are in politics and doing what is right for this country that made sooo much possible for my parents, as well as I. It has been the utmost honor to get to know yall, and my hopes are that we all get to know each other even more. For in Failure or in success, we ought to stay tight, lol, and thus, I have set up a Facebook group to keep this alive. Even if you get rejected or accepted, Please join. The last couple of days set us apart from the others. Maybe, for the first time, prospective White House interns utilized the internet and social networking to not only quell anxiety and what not, but to inform eachother, comfort each other, to educate each other and socialize with eachother. Its truly been an experience that deserves to live on, be it in the White House or across the Internet’s spectrum.

The Facebook group’s name is:
The White House Administration of Internship Rejects & Acceptees

I know I know I know, a lame name…but lets call it a placeholder for now, and later we can democratically choose a name. (gotta be authoritarian for now jk haha)

Here is a link for you to click on and join as well:

Facebook;

When you join, Please Message me your username that you went by on this thread, and your respective Cabinet rank, lol. I will list those as officers, haha.

So, please join at your own convenience and time. But be sure to join. I will Hunt you down! Our VP (AwesomeOpossum) will uphold Dick Cheney’s legacy of having her own Hitman DeathSquad…so u better watch out! hahaha jk

Good Luck :)

"I am seriously in agony, just reject me so I can move on with my life already! "

I feel the same!!

so much for the WH:
