White House Internship

Ugh, tomorrow it is, I guess. Anyone have any information to share? Any “reliable sources” out there?

Teaching at Columbia, right? Which part of the Constitution is altered by the erratic comma Toby discovers upon leaving the White House? 24 more hours, and we should all know what we’re doing this fall!

Or at least know what we’re not doing.

Let me think, takings clause right? See, if you keep asking me stuff about the Constitution I can pretend I am studying for the bar rather than refreshing my email/this website every 3 minutes

What job did Josh offer Donna in the Santos administration? What job did she take instead?

Offered Deputy Press Secretary, but she took the First Lady’s Chief of Staff position. Okay, so we’re sticking to the Consitution? Name as many characters in the fictional West Wing’s Presidential Line of Succession as you can. They don’t have to be chronologically correct, so we’ll count either of the show’s Vice Presidents, Speakers of the House, etc.

how ****ed are we going to be if it doesn’t come tomorrow

Just curious, does anyone know if the interns will actually get to meet President Obama?

At very least, the interns do pose for a class picture with the President, or at least they seem to have do so in the past. Otherwise, I believe it is simply a matter of chance depending on where in the building you work. Luck, basically. Indeed, the people who are chosen will have a dicey time finding lodging in six weeks. I’ll take those odds, though. I’ll commute from Norfolk if need be.

Is it just me, or does it seem like a lot more people got an interview this time around (or at least those on this board)? I was also wondering if you all thought it was normal for people to get more than one interview? It seems like most people have… I applied for the summer session and got rejected. I am planning on not getting it, but there is always that part of you that wants it so bad!!

So, today I got an interesting e-mail…

I was informed that the White House Intern Program is now “full.” The e-mail was from the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) and they offered me the “opportunity to interview to become part of our team here at the White House Council on Environmental Quality.” At first blush it almost sounded like an actual job offer (I am a college grad), because they never mentioned the word “internship” in the e-mail.

For those who don’t know, CEQ is under the Executive Office of the President and they advise the President and other White House Offices on the development of environmental policies and initiatives. From what I understand, they are not located physically in the White House, but instead are located at Jackson Place directly across from the White House (in Lafayette Square).

Not sure what to make of all this…I guess I’ll let them know that I’m interested in interviewing.

I have a friend interning with them. Good luck!!!

i guess it would have to be full if we’re suppose to find out tomorrow. at least you heard something!

out of the fall applicants who have posted, it seems like we’re such a SMALL sample. ive given up on trying to figure out patterns or hidden hints lol

thats amazing tarheelz! congrats :)

i’m keeping my fingers crossed that it really is this small…

Any one here who has been through this before? I know of several stories of people who got in on their third or fourth try.

Countdown. Anyone hear anything yet? If it gets too far past lunch time, I think we’re looking at another Continuing Resolution.

talk about cruel, they pushed it back almost 3 weeks. they can’t do it again!

I know that the summer interns got their email at around 11:30am EST, but most of the emails I’ve ever gotten (confirmation, interview, selection updates) has come at around 4:30pm EST. So I am still hoping it’ll be today. Either way they have to tell us something, right?

So close!

I hope so! I don’t think I can stand another weekend without knowing!

My spidey-sense is tingling, and it’s saying it’ll be another week.

got mine…rejected
