I applied to many of the same offices as you, WH2010, and you, BL… Do you think that some offices, including those we applied to, simply are not conducting interviews? If none of us have been contacted about an interview, at this point, we can likely assume that these offices are (a) very far behind in the process meaning decisions are going to be delayed, or (b) that they are not going to conduct them. Or maybe the three of us did not make it to the final interview stage. However, given that there are three of us, we gave our vitals, and we applied to a 5+ offices, it’s improbable all of us were rejected by all of the mentioned offices.

Thanks, jlee46. You were the only one to get the summer 09 internship on CC, right? Any words of advice? Do you mind telling us a bit about your White House experience?

I was wondering if anybody could give an honest opinion.

I’m a high school senior and I applied to the White House internship.

For experience, I was a congressional intern for Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, a page for the Maryland State Assembly, a judical intern for District Superior Court Judge John Bayly, and a judical intern for Prince George’s County District Attorney Glenn Ivy.

One of my recommendation was from Hoyer. And a white house staffer, whom I met while interning for Hoyer, in the Legislative Affairs “flagged” my application

Do you think I have a shot?/Do you think I have enough experience?

Hopefully people will start posting once they find out- so we can all get a better idea of what’s going on- do you think we’ll get phone calls or emails?

In the fall, they sent out acceptances a week late. And acceptances were by both phone and email. Reading over past posts it looks like not all offices do interviews or ask for additional information. I’m not giving up hope! fingers crossed

The acceptances/rejections from last summer are in the 60s on this thread. And for the spring they’re in the 90s. Last summer they sent out rejection emails as well, though in my cursory search I couldn’t find anyone who got one in the fall, so either they’re not doing that this year, or everyone on CC got accepted in the spring…

Hey, I’m new but I’ve been reading this for the past couple of days. I applied for the summer, but I’ve essentially consigned myself to not getting the internship as I did not get this “vitals” email that everyone has been referring to. Though I do hope to apply for the Spring internship for next year, if my school schedule works out. Looking at the pages where they were accepted and the pages from last summer, it is pretty obvious that there weren’t as many applications for Spring so they accepted a good number of those who had applied. Anyway, my only hope for being accepted was that I am a moderate republican from California, I belong to a religious minority, and I have an extremely unique history of organizations I’ve volunteered with. What do you think, does Obama’s desire for partisanship make me a more likely candidate?

Just chiming in as another applicant. I haven’t heard anything, no email, nothing. My Professor (who encouraged me to apply) used to work in the White House and I mentioned it to her the other day (casually) and she didn’t seem to think that necessarily meant anything. At this point I’m just anxious to know. I will actually be at the White House Thursday for a meeting (our class is traveling there with that same Professor) so hopefully we’ll hear something before then.
It seems to me (just from what I’ve read here) that some offices maybe aren’t bothering with interviews (that may also be wishful thinking). Anyway, like I said, I’m anxious to hear something back and having been checking this board frequently!
