Could be any time this week. Do you think It’ll be all on the same day?

It looks like all of the notifications came on the same day last year.

Yeah they all came in April 24th it seems

April 24th last year?

Oh, missed your last post. Got it. thanks.

Does anyone think the fact that the deadline was pushed back (the deadline to apply that is) has any significance? I mean, why would they do that if they weren’t satisfied with the applicants they’d received?

The deadline extension seemed to coincide with the winter storm that shut down DC for a week.

I hadn’t realized that. It seemed odd to me. I turned my stuff in at the very last minute (I only found out the Friday before everything was due) and was surprised to see the deadline extended.

I’ve consistently been checking the internship program’s web page since it was instituted, and can say that the deadline for application submission has been systemically extended. The extension for this round seems to be keeping in precedent with that for other rounds. I wouldn’t assume it has any special significance for this round in particular or that it had any motivation that the other rounds didn’t.

Really? That’s interesting. Thanks for the info! I’m really hoping emails or whatever go out sometime tomorrow…we’ll see I guess!

Hey guys! If I were a betting man, I would say on Friday at noon we will receive an email saying that have extended the deadline and will let us know next week sometime (they will let us know anywhere from Wednesday-Friday during that week). Just a guess!!! Good luck fellow White House interns.

Really? Boo. Oh well, I guess I’ll just enjoy my trip to DC and refrain from poking around at the White House. haha

The suspense is killing me- who did you all interview with?

Has anyone heard back yet from the Energy and Climate Council? They were my first choice, but I haven’t heard anything back from them.

Deadlines in government are bound to be extended based on the nature of the work. Its dynamic and demanding; I imagine especially the White House. Most managers have probably put off the internship applications for other issues that needed immediate attention.

Though, it is recess this week still. I’d think they would be a little more flexible with their time… hm.

Who volunteers to call the White House to check?

What’s the number? Get me the number and I’ll ask them whether the recess will affect the acceptance/rejection date. :)

Probably won’t be able to call until tonight though, so if someone has time before that, feel free.

202 456 5979.

For some reason, someone seems to man the phone into odd hours of the night, so feel free to ring.
