I am sure this totally depends upon the day and whether it is Unifieds or another regional type audition, but are the people whom you are auditioning in front of the actual department heads? Seems like they would be spread thin if this is the case. DD is auditioning for Drama at University of Oklahoma at the school and we were wondering. Told to send thank you notes afterward and getting these names would be helpful (I will find them on website - just checking to see if anyone knew in general).
Pretty much everyone my d auditioned for was either a department head or someone high up in the theatre program. They take these auditions very very seriously and want to see the kids first hand. For a school with many kids auditioning like CMU and Juilliard they had a first round and then call backs and usually the heads were for sure there for the call backs. I made sure my d told me their names as soon as she got out and then she emailed that evening thanking them for the audition.
Thanks! Where is your D now?
CalArts – loving it!
