i go to a magnet school so I have a bunch of friends from middle school that I still hang out with, I'm a good bit smarter than most of them. one of them is quite smart and works hard though, I wish he got into my school. the others just don't care enough but they're all really cool people and don't just have boulders for brains. at my magnet school, most of my tight friends are quite intelligent but aren't really overachievers. overachievers are usually not as much fun and I like to have fun and chill as much as I can. I MUST be out of the house socializing and chilling on friday or saturday nights or else i'm miserable

Generally white jews because I live in MA

^^^I've never really thought of Massachusetts as particularly Jewish, but maybe I never noticed.

my best friend and i play "the game" where we dont compare scores, grades, etc etc etc. were in the same classes and were both gonna be top 10, probably top 5, but getting into the specifics just makes us really competitive and so we try and avoid that altogether. theres basically a group of four of us closest friends - the one i play the game with and i are both highly academically driven and not so stellar in sports, and the other two are maybe top 25% but are going to get recruited for fencing/crew respectively. its a good balance - i think we keep each other in check .. they keep us running, we keep them studying... we throw it all out the window on the weekends and have fun...

me and my most of my school friends are about at the same intelligence level, not that it matters. They're just better in certain things than I am, and vice versa. I'm generally better at social studies, community service, college stuff, and test scores. My friends are a lot better at science, english, math, music, sports etc. We all focus on so many different things...you can't really compare. But they're all smart in the way that they don't get involved in drugs and other crap like that...we're goody two-shoes :)

But then I have some asian friends who are a year older than me...they are freaking geniuses; two of them are going to Pomona college and Dartmouth. And they're not goody two-shoes either....
