@ Silverzc413: 10,000 apps for only 100 spots is a 1% acceptance rate! I'm sure you were just exaggerating, but yeah I do realize how competitive it's going to be. =

@ CollegeDK: Thanks and good luck with Wharton! I first wanted to apply ED there too, but I'm pretty sure I'll just be donating my application fee to Penn.

Well...maybe not 10,000 applicants...but AEM only has 95 seats for freshman applicants.

I agree. Anyone know why they offer such a few number of spots?! With only 95 spots, AEM could probably be on par with HYPSM, in terms of selectivity/acceptance rate. @_@ So not fair.

I am applying for AEM, not sure if it will be my first or second choice on my app yet.
1520/2240 SAT, 3.7 UW 4.21 W GPA
I think my GPA will hurt me the most, but I do have really good essays.

is it really hard to get into AEM, b/c I thinkALS is not that hard to get accepted. But AEM.... I think its kinda hard. Anyway I want to apply but I only get 1450/2110 SAT....

SAT IIs definitely matter. I read somewhere that some schools weigh the SAT IIs even heavier than the SAT I. This is probably because it shows strength in specific subjects, while the SAT I just measures "aptitude" and how well you take tests.

Wait, then how do the additional 150 students join the program I'm assuming transfers, and if it is wouldn't it be more wise to transfer into AEM then apply directly cause they take more people?

The AEM faculty/CALS admissions is slowly decreasing the number of students in the program. They are aware of students using the "backdoor" to get into AEM: transferring in from an outside institution...applying to a different major in CALS then switching...doing internal transfer.

Again...this information comes from an AEM faculty member.

Top 10%
Unweighted 3.7 (I'm not going to lie, taking AP classes was definitely a stab in the back, all the kids that took like easier level 1 classes, got A's in them and I had to settle with a handful fo Bs and B pluses :(
