Who at CC is applying to Cornell AEM?

I thought it would be a good idea for all the AEM prospective students (and current students!) here on CC to gather in this thread and get a feel for the possible AEM class of 2013. We can talk about how we're doing on our applications, help each other out on essay prompts, ask questions, provide information/links, give our stats, or whatever else AEM-related!

Go Cornell AEM! :)

Here are some related links:

Calling all CCers applying to Cornell AEM! (whether it's ED or RD)

Am I seriously the only one applying to AEM?! o_O

well...since only about 100 people are going to be accepted, it should be a positive lol. I was going to apply to AEM, but realized I probably would get rejected so I'm applying to another major I'm interested in at CALS.

Ah well, judging from your previous posts, you seem to have about the same stats as me! (not to mention applying to MANY of the same schools that I am applying to) Now you're getting me worried about getting into AEM. =\ Are you still EDing to CALS?

Cornell admission is based on school/region.

i was going to apply to AEM ED. not sure about it now. definitely applying to cornell though. BIG RED

put me on the might AEM RD. i'm more into biology CAS/CALS. decisions, decisions..

@ Shifu Yoda: What exactly does that mean?

hey guys..i was interested in applying for aem but i have this dilemma. i was looking at the requirements for it and since its in the college of agriculture and life sciences it requires bio. i have no high school bio because i didnt think i would need it for business/economics. dyou think that admission is still possible?

I don't think it would necessarily affect your admission into CALS, but you would probably have a hard time understanding the material if it's your first time exposed to bio. I'm not the strongest bio student either (didn't take AP Bio) but I took Honors Coordinated Science 2 my sophomore year which is my school's version of Intro to Bio. I wouldn't entirely rule out AEM just because you don't have any Bio background.

Acceptance is based on school/region. That means, the more people are applying from your region/school, the more competitive it is. It does not have direct relationship with how many are applying from the nation as a whole (although the university does have an overall quota).

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying on that.

Wow, I thought AEM would be much more popular than this here at CC.
I guess that's a good thing for me? :O

AEM is not very appealing.

I see... May I ask what is unappealing about AEM to you? Not trying to defend it or anything, just curious. =P

I'm applying there RD. Gonna major in Applied Economics and Management. I went to a summer program, semi-prestigious (Economics for Leaders) at Cornell this summer..so yeah...

Awesome, I wish I could have gone! I was considering the summer program but another opportunity (fully paid 2-week trip to Korea!) came up. =</p>

In general, how did you like it? How were the dorms? Professors? Campus buildings? Student body (if there were any current Cornell students there over the summer)? Overall atmosphere?

Bump........

Applying to AEM (so far...):

Is there really just 3 of us here on CC applying to AEM?! o_O

lol trust me there will be a TON of people applying to AEM...it doesn't mean they have to make a post here. There's going to be about 100 spots, and over 10,000 apps.

Yea the acceptance rates are extremely low for AEM lol.

I'm applying to Wharton ED and planning on applying to Cornell AEM RD.

Good luck kMz
