Poly will send you a notice (whether you’re in or out) via your portal and a hard copy through the mail. If you get wait-listed, move on.

if your wait listed what are the chances of getting in though?? and when will you be notified??

i know i probably have no chance with my 3.5 uc gpa (3.6+) and 1490/1600 gpa but i still applied into the notoriously insanely impacted architecture major. maybe my application will catch them in one of their moments of inconsistency and they’ll let me in!

I had heard this before, so I called and talked to an Admissions person asking if they choose applicants in order of their submission. She said definitely NO. Instead, she said they wait until they get all of their applicants in and then decide. I asked if there were two applicants and their stats were the same…would they automatically take the one who submitted their app. first? She was adamant about them NOT doing this. Hmmmm…I wonder if that’s true or not. It doesn’t seem fair that they would have an application period from Oct. 1-Nov. 30 and then only take the ones who turned theirs in first. That would make it pointless to apply after a certain date even if it IS within the time frame.

A lot of people were not accepted into Cal Poly, not because they didn’t deserve to get in, but because they applied too late. I applied on Oct. 27, 2008 and did not get in. I also know someone last year who applied to Cal Poly and did not get in, but was accepted by Harvard, Yale, and Stanford. Their admission decisions seem not to be based on the merit of the individual, but if they applied at the beginning of the admission period. A lot of the time when you don’t get in, it’s not because of you! It’s just because they ran out of spots.

My son applied at the end of Nov. two years ago and got accepted.

My daughter also applied in November of last year and got accepted into architecture. I don’t think the date you apply means anything. They compare you to the rest of the applicants, and they don’t have all of them till the last day of November. Good luck! It is a great school with a first-class architecture program!

Does anyone know how good their liberal arts program is?? (specifically the new anthropology school) also, what do you think the acceptance rate is for that major?

wait dont you mean the liberal studies?

This thread makes me worried/sad.

Yes, calpoly123, I do mean liberal STUDIES. My sincerest and deepest apologies… Please do forgive me…

Geez man…

this f***king sucks.

This doooesss =.=!!

what does it say if you didnt get in???

when the early decision thing disappears from ur admission status

Wonder what it means if it’s still there but no decision has been made. I’m SO nervous all of this is soooo distracting. I have Ap gov HW to do and all I can do is sit here and refresh my portal page! lol
