Who else is impatient? Fall 2014 Transfer Students to San Diego State University (CSU - SDSU)

Hello,
Has anyone been accepted to San Diego State University (SDSU) as a transfer applicant for fall 2014?
And if anyone knows when we will be notified for our admission status please discuss!
It is already March 10 and I am getting really anxious.
My status on Web Portal is still pending.

Does it matter what degree I am receiving to know when I'll get to know acceptance/denial message? I am getting my Business Administration (General AS-T).

Thank you!
Go Aztecs~

@brizzzy19 same here! i keep checking my email and the portal everyday. I’m a criminal justice transferring who’s going to be completing an AS-T in criminal justice by the end of spring. my admission status says pending as of October 3, 2013, which is the day i submitted my application on csumentor. I’m hoping this is a good thing because I’ve been hearing spots are reserved for people with AA-T or AS-T and that’s why we don’t hear until the end. i saw on a post from last year people with this degree didn’t hear until early April!

No! Mine still says pending. I’m a transfer student from Palomar college with a 4.0 GPA and an AA-T in Psych, so even though I think I have a shot I’m still super nervous. Please keep us updated if you hear back!

If you are transferring with an AS/AA-T, your application will not be evaluated until after March 15th, which is the deadline for you to submit your degree verification. So you probably will not hear from SDSU regarding admission until the end of March.

Thanks for your responses. I’m glad I’m not the only one on this boat. @knhofto we have to turn in a degree verification? I did not see this in the requirements. Thanks for sharing though, I’m going to speak to my counselor tomorrow.

Yes, you do. Call SDSU admissions if your cc hasn’t submitted one on your behalf. You can see it in the fine print on the supplemental app tutorial.

I received my acceptance on March 5th! Good luck everyone

@knhofto YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER. I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH!
I turned in my degree evaluation to SDSU today with three days to spare.
I’m so glad I made this College Confidential account or I wouldn’t have turned it in.
Thanks again!

This should be a thread for AS-T/AA-T people since we’re practically evaluated differently from other transfer students, and we share almost the same concerns in similar situations :stuck_out_tongue:

@brizzzy19 No problem! So glad you were able to get all of your paperwork in on time!

I got my acceptance on March 5th. Business major, 3.1 GPA as a transfer

I was notified on March 10th that I didn’t get accepted :frowning: I’m a Biology major, but I don’t think my GPA is competitive enough… I’ll have finished all the recommended course by the end of spring, including the last semester of organic chemistry…

I just got denied from San Marcos and I’m worried I won’t get into SDSU since I’ve heard SDSU is harder to get into. I know I’ll probably know by the end of the month but I’m getting so anxious. If I don’t get in I’ll have to move to LA from the Central Valley because I didn’t apply to any other schools besides cal state LA and long beach. I didn’t get into long beach but was accepted into Csula. I just hate how universities wait so long considering the way we spend the next few years of our lives depends on what they tell us. And my BF lives in SD so moving down there would def be a plus. Sorry for rambling. Lol.

@nrcl123 what are your stats? Did you apply to any other schools down south?

@nannl0ve you and I are on the same page! I just got denied to San Marcos. I’m freaking out right now. I was reading the email and it said, “we received over 7,000 applications…” wow. SDSU received 60,000+ so I don’t know what to do. Take the fall semester off? Apply for spring? I’m clueless but I’m hoping for the best. I don’t want to think negative right now. At least we are still in the running!

@brizzzy19 well it says on both san marcos and sdsu websites that they can’t take spring applicants which really sucks. you could appeal within 15 days but i think there has to be some extenuating circumstance behind it. what are your stats? and what is your major? if you’re in the local area you should be given priority.

@nannl0ve
I am a Business Administration (General - AS-T) major graduating from SD Mesa College in May.
I have a 3.16 GPA but with the local GPA bump my counselor says its 3.26.
I am a San Diego resident, SDSU is like two miles from home!

I wasn’t planning on applying to the same schools; maybe move somewhere fresh and new.

@brizzzy19 well i really hope you get into sdsu! and if not i’m sure the other schools you apply to would love to take you. honestly i think sdsu is too well known as a party school and that’s a shame because there are people who would really just love to get an education at a good school in a nice city and it’s hard with so many people applying solely for the partying.

What’s up with this school? have they released ANY transfer decisions at all? They said that decisions will be released in “early March” and we’re nearly approaching the last week of March with nothing at all.

I have been accepted. If you go to the SDSU forum there are a bunch of people who have been accepted and rejected there. The ADT verifications have seriously delayed the admissions process. :(
