Everyone? A few people? A couple hundred people?

Can they be used for attending the Rice/Baylor interview instead of Owl Days?

Can they be used for attending the Rice/Baylor interview instead of Owl Days?

I did… But I can’t use it because my parents insist on driving…

Probably out of staters.

I didn’t get one…

I’m flying in all the way from New England. And I need the financial aid (they’ve already waived my enrollment deposit and Owl Days fee).

I got one
I’m from florida if that means anything

What… how do you get it?? I need it… they waived my $400 housing/enrollment deposit though. and my Owl Days fee is waived. Is that why I didn’t get the travel reimbursement :T

^Maybe you live closer…?

I didnt get anything and i’m definitely out of state. i didnt apply for FA though. maybe that has something to do with it?

I didn’t get anything waived… didn’t qualify for FA at all either. :(

I’m from Hawaii and I didn’t get anything.

Is this through email or snail mail?

I’m from CA. I just got my plane ticket today and it costs $325 that was the cheapest one and i get there at like 2pm on wednesday… so im missing part of the morning. boooo

it was an extra page in my acceptance packet…i missed it the first time i looked through my acceptance packet and only saw it when i was getting out the owl days brochure. i would think that it’s need-based more so than merit-based if that helps.

i didn’t get one. from CA and applied for FA

Maybe it’s a combination of merit, need, and distance? I got a likely letter, applied for aid, and am from Minnesota.

I agree with Modulation that it’s a combination of factors. I’m instate (actually offered $150 instead of $300), applied for aid, but received none, though I got a likely & merit aid.

awww I wish I could give mine to someone else since I already visited last week during my spring break, (It was probably my favorite college visit too, though to be fair I’ve only gone on three haha)

^Yeah, I wish I could give the money away or have it added to my current aid. =]

The Owl Days Travel Reimbursement offer, from my understanding, is offerred to those who were awarded merit scholarships at Rice (that’s what the Rice admissions rep for my region said). I got it too, but I didn’t qualify for need-based aid (but got some merit scholarships).

However, if you qualify for need-based aid, you may be able to contact the admissions office and see if they waive your fee.

It doesn’t matter how many people got it… just be happy that you got one!

Okay, so why did they send me a likely letter and not offer me any merit scholarships? I’m confused.

I did not get one… I even contacted the admissions people and they said they ran out of reimbursements.

Gosh sometimes it sucks to be an ED-er. But then I think about how I did not have to suffer through this because I knew my future in December, and it is all better :)
