Yeah that number sounds a lot more reasonable. Right in the 50%-60% region that i keep hearing.

@esperanzahope
They don’t tell us housing assignments until June 12, but the list of potential halls is online.

I finally committed to going, couldn’t have done it without financial help from my grandpa who’s an alum and is totally psyched that I’m doing this.
Taking 8 credit organic chem.
What are the rest of you taking?

I got accepted and am taking NeuroBiology. Unfortunately, I gotta do as a distance education student cuz of our planned family trips to Africa and the Middle East during the summer…

Just an FYI for you guys: make sure you search around for the textbooks you need (if you need any) and buy them at a reduced price on Amazon or similar. It’d be wise to spend $40 rather than $100!

I got in too, but I’m not sure if I can go.
I am committed to attending the NJCL convention which keeps me out of town July 25-30, effectively requiring me to skip 2 classes.
The SSP program already told me that they can’t condone this, so I’m pretty sure I won’t be going, but do any previous SSP students have input on this?
Should I reschedule my flight for the 26th so that I will only miss one class?

Hey is anyone taking general chem this year? If anyone did it last year do you know if you need advance algebra as my school does algebra in 9th grade then geometry in 10th and then trig/advanced algebra in 11th

Apparently, they won’t let you skip a single class. I tried asking them if i could arrive later because i had a national exam on the 26th June but since they refused, i forfeited my exams. It wasn’t a silly move because i can still do it next year easily.

Hi! i got accepted as well, International law and introduction to psychology… I’m staying at hurlbut 101, looking forward to an awesome summer! i just wish there was more information about the dorms…did anyone go last year?

I got in too. Globalization and principles of microeconomics.
Well here in China I can never get into facebook. But it’s nice to see people attend SSP here!!
Does anyone live in Claverly hall?

One additional question: does it help apply other schools in fall? I could never have a chance with Harvard, but i hope this experience would help when i’m applying others.

LynnDay, it probably won’t tip your app into acceptance if it is not already strong, but getting A’s wouldn’t hurt I think the main benefits of this program is the opportunity to learn more about your favorite topics and get a taste of college life.

I’m also a student from China!! I’ll take the principles of macroeconomics since the time for the principles of micro- does not fit my schedule. Where do you come from? I’m from Beijing.^^

Me tooooooooooooooo!!I am from high school of peking university. How about you? I am wondering if i could talk in Chinese right now~~you could add me in RENREN, if you have one. Search 董帆…

Are you guys taking one 8-credit class, or two 4-credit classes? I suppose you’d put about the same amount of work into it, but I’m just wondering. I’m taking two 4-credits.
