Anyone get into an ivy-league school willing to post their application info?..But then i suppose anyone who already got admitted wouldn’t bother coming back to this forum

Are you *ing kidding me? Sorry....just shocked, but congrats guys, that's awesome....but Cornell *ing rejected me with a 5.39 uw gpa, 3.7 w, and 5 out of 315 rank! I got 710 math on sat....verbal's a 630 but gimme a break, it's not my first language. that's bull! but congrats though, happy for you guys!

blueangel, don't despair man, cornell rejected me too, i got 4.0gpa and 4.2 weighted, rank 3/340, 800m 600v(5 years in english speaking country), and 710avg SAT II, got rejected too. i am telling you, it's all in the essay and also, look at these guys, they are balanced! if it were up to me to decide between me and them, hey, i'd probably choose them. congrads guys

Yeah, the Verbal score is a killer. People say that they compensate non-native speakers, but the truth is they don't that much.

Well, what are your other things? I mean there is MORE to college application than just GPA and SAT!

What were you ECs? Awards? Classes? Volunteer work? How'd you do on the essay?

Accepted Columbia University - Columbia College Early Decision
No rank

SAT I: 750 Math, 690 Verbal
SATII: 800 Writing, 770 Math IIC, 700 Chemistry

Yeah, CU/CC-you sound a lot like my S-lots of theatre (performance and tech, school lit mag founder/EIC, School Leadership Team, etc.). Also. political activism-CU seems to like that...

blueangel How did you get a 5.39 unweighted! That's not even possible at my school (or anyother school I've ever heard of).

Anyways, I'm going to:
Cornell- Arts and Sciences
4.0 uw, 4.98 w
5/498
800M 680 V
630 writing 700 bio 690 german

pretty sweet ecs and recomendations

O.O; Whoa a lot of you guys have really good scores! --; I think it depends what you put on your applications. :] I'm not sure. [ still a sophmore] :/

I got into Columbia and Dartmouth (but rejected from HY&P) with:

1530 sat, 800, 740, 730 sat II
decent, but not amazing ecs
rank pretty low (~30/370, but competitive school, so maybe they looked further? I don't know), but difficult course load
I really liked my essay...

Cubed, where are you attending college?

mangosmmm What Da hell are you saying? Are you being pi ssed cuz u asian?

getting a low verbal score does stink a little. 2.5 years in this country-----> 620 verbal.

I totally agree with you newbyborn, it's crap. But don't get me wrong, I'm really really happy for all those who got in, tough thing to do, so really...congrats! As for quitejade (thanks for asking) I have like everything.....community service, a billion academic clubs, help support a kid in Honduras....I don't think my essays are that bad either....I did philharmonic if they're looking for music. I did basketball, if they're looking for sports....12 AP
s total (that's how, pjv :-)) right, it sucks! give us a break. i'm not saying that they should give us the minority adavantage because even though i'm a minority, i hate those kinds of advantage cuz now most people think we just got in to our schools because of that. i'm just saying give us a break in the verbal if it's not our first language you know? but oh well....i got into a great school, so i guess it doesn't matter anymore...i just really had to get that out of my system.

Cornell is really weird with admissions. They've rejected a lot of people at my school who have got into "better" schools and accepted a lot of genuinely mediocre people. Granted, they were different schools at Cornell, but still, it's weird.
