I have a Senior Research paper presentation to do at the end of May. I was hoping I would get a reply from Davis so that I would either be hella stoked or ****ed off (both would influence my presentation, which is a rant about religious extremism). Meh.

Davis got 1 thing right though. This time IS damned stressful.

those of you who got into uc davis through the wait list, what major did you apply for? please let me know, i am on the uc davis wait list and i really want to go there, but they still haven’t notified me.

i think that one paragraph/ essay with the 200 words had to do a lot with the decisions.
I mean think about it. a lot of us have similar if not the same stats/ class.

I believe the paragraph that they asked us to submit was a way for them to see how “different” we could be.

I don’t mean to flaunt (really i don’t mean to sound … arrogant! ><) but for that paragraph, i spent nearly an hour on it. For 200 words, i literally researched all the buildings of ucd and posted something similar to this: “… and I feel compelled to admire the aspects of the ____ library, so that i can flourish the creativity that…” really. i remember listing a specific library. one of the performing arts center, etc. I made it so that i sounded truly… truly interested in the school.

Now for some of you guys, that may not be the case. But understand that my stats… were very mediocre compared to some of you guys. I mean, i did take all honors/ap classes throughout high school, BUT the grades that i produced/ SAT’s weren’t bad… but not that extraordinary as well.

i don’t mean to self-deprecate myself, nor make ucd bad… but that’s just ONE possibility as to how i got in as a international agricultural development major (really).

I got accepted yesterday. Undeclared Life Sciences. My stats were pretty good, I think. Took 9 AP courses, 3.8 GPA, 1850 on SAT, 27 on ACT, Key Club all 4 years, tutored at autism center.

Since my daughter turned down her offer of admissions for Davis, I’m glad that one of you got it! I’m still not 100% sure why she didn’t have the best “vibe” when we visited the campus once during Homecoming. I feel she should have given it more than one visit. Oh, well. Since she didn’t want to take out loans for USC, she decided to attend Cal Poly SLO.

Best wishes to all of you who are coming off the waitlist! I hope your next 4 years at Davis are wonderful ones.
