Who has sent in their deposit already?

Even though my son chose something else over both Colorado School of Mines and Rose-Hulman, he would definitely have chosen RH over Mines. The only thing he liked better about Mines was that it’s VERY close to home. RH advantages are
[ul][]smaller student body[]undergrad focus[]profs that really seem to care[]desire to help students succeed rather than weed them out[]requirement and opportunity for broader course selections, esp. in humanities[]Rose-Hulman Ventures[]space for more students in the dorms[]better CS/math major[/ul]

DS = dear son

TXmom–I am concerned about the engineering physics program not being accredited. Are there other programs not accredited? Our older daughter went to a small school where some programs were not accredited and it really did affect her when looking for a job after grad.

Anyone else know of any other programs at Rose that are not accredited?
Thanks

Engineering Physics is the only one I know of. I was told Rose Hulman began offering this program a few years ago. Evidently the process to become accredited requires a few years of students graduating from the program. They are working on getting it accredited, and expect it to become accredited in 2012.

EP is the only program at Rose-Hulman not yet accredited due to its recent addition as a major. They will go through the accreditation process next year, and if history is any indicator, they will receive full accreditation.

I just wanted to correct something I wrote earlier about Colo School of Mines. My friend found out that Mechanical Engineering is accredited there. I just didn’t want anyone to have wrong info because of my error.

from Ohio, S is not set on a major, but loves physics & computers. I’ve encouraged him to wait to decide, bc they haven’t been exposed to much in high school.
Does anyone recall if there is much choice for freshman housing? I’m going to start a new thread about useful things they’ll need for next year.

Impressive things re:Rose & Terre Haute (not what you’d expect at a small eng school):
Indy colts have their summer training camp there in August.
NCAA DIII Indoor track championships has been held there in recent years.
Nike XC Midwest Championship run is held in Terre Haute in November-it is supposed to be a very nice course.

Kind of a silly question, but did anyone receive any response from RHIT after paying their deposit? I have a PayPal receipt, but I was surprised that there was no other response. Can we just assume they received it?

I got something in the mail around a week later that was like a certificate that said I was in the class of 2014, if that helps?

We also got the certificate and a letter welcoming son to the 2014 class. It did take about a week. I am sure yours is coming
