Who Has The Biggest Score Changes...

wow your CR....amazing

714D1 how did you make your CR like that? oh woops, probably vocab :P i just took my first SAT and got LOWWWW...like 1750 low...when i was predicting 2100 after all those practice tests i took...you guys are giving me hope for my retake :P

fa-la-la-lena, are those types of increases from 10th to 12th grade typical?

i.e., if I recieved a 1730 in 9th grade, I could get ~190 PSAT in 10th, 2100 11th, 2300 12th? lol

This thread gives me some hope. i got 1830 on Oct SAT.
If i work my ass off over the next month, it will be possible to get over 2000 for the Dec Test, right?

Depends on your weaknesses. Math and MC Writing might be easy to improve but CR and good essay-writing skills entail some more time.

1880->2100->2100
(1330-->1410-->1410)
Superscore: 1880->2190

You have to remember, that the vast majority of people don't get great score improvements by doing nothing. Read the SAT paper score sheet. It says that on average , people (with my old score) might actually LOSE 5 points on each section by retaking the test.

I started preparing for the 2nd try 3 months in advance. I memorized 1000 vocab words and did at least 4 full practice tests and 2 half-practice tests. I also went cover-to-cover in "The Underground Guide to the SAT". That worked for me because I already am really smart, I just needed practice on how to beat the SAT. If you are completely clueless on the SAT with low scores, then much more practice would be needed. And always use the blue book, old tests, or the Official SAT Online Course. PR tests are way too easy.

1920 (march) -->2160 (oct) 240+

didn't study at all, i think i did two and a half practice tests in the early summer and then i gave up. i think i will do some study and retake it in december

May: 530M, 550CR, 590W --- 1670
Oct: 670M, 720CR, 770W --- 2160

+490.

I had fun over the summer.

how did you guys do it????? I got an 1840 last may and i'm taking it this Saturday, any advice for me??? Pleasee??

CR 610 to 760

There is not much you can do if you're taking it this Saturday. Sorry.

I went from -∞ to ∞.

Pwn.

*** mj93, that's like double infinity.

For critical reading, I don't think anyone can offer any more advices than read more, memorize vocab words, and practice until you find the best reading method that works for you. I agree with dank08. Improving is not a one-night thing. Only thing you can do now is to get a good night's sleep (for me, 9 hours in october worked much better than 7 in june). Relax, drink Red Bull/coffee, or drink both like I did.
