Who has the toughest schedule on CC for next year?

…so anybody else run out of math after completing the whole math curriculum at your school and local college? lol

You guys are crazy. lol.
But, is it really necessary to kill yourself just to get into a good college?

If you even visit this board, you are probably a really good college applicant. The average number of AP classes taken by a student going into MIT is 5/6 - all 4 years combined. A lot of us do that in one year. Even taking 2-3 AP’s is a pretty big load, and something to be proud of.

AP Stat
AP Physics
AP Eng Lit/Comp
Deciding between:
AP Euro and AP Span
or
AP Euro and AP Gov

either way I’ll have 5

and yes it is necessary to kill myself. I want to go to freaking Duke and I need to make up for my lackluster reading/comp sat score (math is more than fine), but my english is terrible

I’m taking five AP’s next year and a free class next year, and all my friends say I’m crazy, but I guess not anymore.

AP Calc BC
AP Eng Lit
AP Psych
AP Art History
AP Govt.

I might also self-study the AP Econ if I feel like to.

next year=senior year, and my school only has 6 periods.
AP Lit
AP US Gov/AP Macroecon
AP Bio
AP Calc bc
AP Studio ARt
Anatomy/physiology Honors

Selfstudy:
AP Microecon
AP Latin vergil
AP Comp gov
AP Stats
AP Psychology
possibly AP Spanish lang

fun fun fun. haha, im addicted to APs =)

Earlycollege-Dual enrollment is not to be taken likely. I’m way ahead of you because of it. I already have my A.A. So it’s definitely not an “after school activity”. Don’t be so haughty. It makes AP students look bad.

too bad most top notch schools only give credit for a few of those classes, if you’re doing dual enrollment save all your syllabusssssss!

Wow, this is pretty scary. Seriously, is there a need to take 10 AP classes in one year? It doesn’t show commitment to a subject, it looks like you are just trying to take a lot of classes to make it look good on your transcript.

IB English HL 1
IB Physics HL 1
IB Biology HL 1
IB Hist. of Americas HL 1
IB Computer Science HL 1
IB Calculus HL 1
IB Spanish SL
IB Music SL

Four of those classes involve heavy busy work; cough ib english / history gangbang cough

Dit: @ above, there are people who find that they have exceeded every course they have taken, and then find that those classes are the only choices - or take an easy class, which by any means doesn’t look as good as having an advanced class for it. Right? In our school, it’s IB or nothing (being normal courses, which are jokes).
Ignore IB instead of AP; I’ll be testing AP for most of these too; AP Lang, Calc AB, Comp Sci A, Bio, maybe spanish, USH…

dang, you guys are hecka crazy. so are any of you able to get straight A’s out those schedules. I know I couldn’t. My schedule seems pathetic compare to most people in this thread.

AP U.S. History
AP Calculus AB
AP English Language and Composition
AP Physics B

For me, this is going to be difficult because I’m going to have this set of class everyday for nine weeks in the first half of the year, and nine weeks in the second half.

(My school goes by block schedule. Four classes a day for nine weeks. After that, a new set of classes for then next nine weeks. Then it go back to the first set. That’ll be four terms a year. Just to let you know)

Yeah my classes are FLVS too. But I disagree with whoever said that’s not really part of your schedule. It counts as a credit towards graduation (can’t graduate without an econ credit) and if one of my AP classes during school didn’t work out I’d probably end up in credit lab (computer lab/class for people to work on online classes).

I think if people who are taking an intense schedule think of it as “killing themselves to get into a good college” they’re doing it for the wrong reason, and will probably stress and hate life. I’m doing it because I’m interested in challenging myself (but not killing myself, hence no math class) and learning all I can. (My schedule originally consisted of all the classes I mentioned and Econ Honors over summer until I realized I could take AP Econs and couldn’t decide which to take) Also, I figure if I can handle my schedule then I’ll be a lot better prepared for college and the possibility of double majoring.

This whole college thing has given me some sort of motivation I’ve never had before.

Plus, Florida schools…yeah. I feel like complete idiots somehow manage to get in AP classes. I’m completely sick of having [honors/normal] class with people who ask the same stupid question 500 times and don’t know how to listen or think. /rant

And it sounds pompous, but I’m going to have all a’s and pass all of my exams next year. Confidence is key my friends.

It’s not always about “looking good”–some of us are just neurotic and feel weird not taking the most difficult of EVERYTHING. :stuck_out_tongue: And if you can handle it, why not? Challenges are fun.

And jerry, I almost managed–I’ll have a B in Chemical Engineering, but the teacher is a nutcase anyway, so I don’t mind. It’s definitely possible, if nervewracking at times–and I could never have done this on traditional schedule. Taking 7 APs simultaneously = ick.

That said, this year:

AP Calc AB
AP Calc BC
AP Chem
Chemical Engineering
AP U.S. Hist.
AP Lang
AP French
AP Computer Science (independent study)

And next year:
Calc II and III (dual enrollment @ Georgia Tech)
Magnet Research
AP Lit
AP Gov
AP Econ
BPE (…required)
and–Magnet Internship was supposed to go here, but I’m probably going to do my internship over the summer and take AP Physics C here instead.

Silly physical education requirement. :/

-AP Physical Education (self-study)
-College Level Lunch III (passed out of College Level Lunch I+II after placement exam)
-AP Study Hall (my best subject, expecting a 6.)
-AP Playground (I specialize in the slide. The monkeybar portion of the exam will kill me. It better have a generous curve.)
-AP Naptime (I’m going to ace this class. I bought the latest high-tech pillow just for this class. Thankfully, Collegeboard allows its use on the AP Exam.)
-AP Bathroom (I think I will do well in this class. I had a few problems JR year and got a C because I got genital herpes on one test, but I quickly recovered.)
-AP Handwriting (IMO, my hardest class. I barely passed Pre-AP Chickenscratching III last year, and I haven’t done any reviewing since. I’m really just taking it to make my app look good.)
-AP Mudkipz (yeahhhh…)

7 APs, 1 CL course

EDIT:
real JR schedule:

-BC AP
-AP Stats
-AP Euro
-self-study Lang

proposed SR:
-Chinese AP
-Physics C AP
-Multivariable Calc
-AP Lit
-comp sci AP

wow. my schedule is nothing compared to this board.

wow look at all that APs! my eyes and brain hurts already XD

I think I’m taking…

AP French
study hall
AP U.S history
AP English lit
Partial absense
AP chemistry
AP Calculus bc.

taking one morning class off and another day with study hall…since i’m a procrastinator and cant constantly work…

AP Econ
AP Gov
AP Lit
AP Chem
AP Enviro
Diffeq
Real Analysis
College Bio
Research
AP Psych (self study)

I’m such a slacker (Junior year)…

AP Calculus BC
AP Physics
AP Economics (Macro/Micro)
AP Lang
Symphonic Band
French V

I may self-study AP CompSci.

Senior year also has 4 APs.

some ppl here are obviously ■■■■■■■■… ppl, IB only allows 4 max HL classes… must have 6 classes in total.

Senior Year (next year):

AP English Lit
AP Physics C
AP Calculus BC
AP Spanish Lang
AP Environmental
AP Statistics

So…I kind of hate history with a burning passion…hehe :P

How do you apply for self-study? Is it something that the school is notified about? Or you just learn the material yourself, pay for the test when the time comes, and go take it on the test day?

and what is dual enrollment.?

As far as self-studying at my school there’s no applying per say. You just learn the course by yourself through whatever means you have and let your AP Proctor or guidance counselor know that you want to take whichever AP test you want to take. You have to pay for the test.

Dual enrollment is taking classes at a local college while still in high school. eg- If I was to dual enroll I would take a math class at the local community college rather than taking a math class at my school.
