Who here applied ED?

is it true that people who get LSP’ed get their notifications dates earlier than even the regular accepted people?

@cmwx122 HAHAHAHA me too!!!

fireman144 - if past CC threads are any indication, yup, LSP’ed people usually get their decisions earlier so that they can have more time to mull over going to LSP or not.

I’ve been getting something in the mail from NYU 2-3 times a month since July…it means nothing. I’ve actually gotten that at a glance thing multiple times.

I heard this year is the first year they’re sending out emails with decisions. Maybe Dec 15 is THE date because they don’t have to mail anything (until a few days after we find out).

Yes its true. Lsp kids are notified before everyone else. My son heard the monday after Thanksgiving. He also went to the admitted students information session around the 15th of december to help make up his mind about the program.

Yeah I know! My family’s been asking me what I want for Christmas and I want to ask for NYU merch but then it’s just like, “well, what if I don’t get in?” ha. But yeah. The wait is awful. I’m just trying to take comfort in the idea that four weeks isn’t THAT long…it’s a lot better than waiting for RD though haha. Or even EDII…

Wow, disregard. I was looking at page 4 thinking it was the last page, guess I’m a little late in the conversation haha.

OMG I thought I was the only one looking through the NYU clothing and gift store and picking out things I like haha :)

Ive never got anything in the mail… Prbs because I’m in the uk and postage is many dollars more than it should be :p

Haha @AudreyH, no you’re definitely not alone. Hopefully we’ll be getting acceptance letters soon and won’t have to feel weird about getting merch from our future school  haha.

good luck everyone, so so nervous

I know!
I’m so nervous about this. All my teachers are like “You’r definitely going to get in!” but I’m like ahh.

yeah my teachers have no idea…i’m only the second person ever to apply to the united states…in 200 years
making history here haha

Haha I do the merch thing too! And when I visited they gave us all 10% off coupons but I didn’t buy anything because I was/am too nervous  I have seriously been waiting for this acceptance letter for about a year and a half now…so so so scared :(

Yeah, I’m pretty sure I still have the 10% off coupon in my luggage from when I visited haha. Gah, what is it now, 27 days? I hope I get in! Anyone wanna post stats so we can see what each other’s chances are?

Well…I have about a 3.8 gpa (unweighted), I’ve taken accelerated math and english all four years of high school, as well as AP US History, Economics, US Government, Chemistry, Calculus AB, and English Lit. I got all A’s junior year.
I got a 32 on the ACT, and 2000 on the SAT (700 math, 670 reading, 630 writing).
I took band for two years, and played in an ensemble that traveled around Europe and lived with host families for one month. I also have spent time reading one on one with 2nd graders in my neighborhood once a week every year since 10th grade, I am on student council, a student mentoring program, and I work at the preschool that runs out of my high school. I also do volunteer tutoring with 2nd and 3rd graders in Detroit once a week during the school year and 3 times a week in the summer (this is what I wrote my common app essay on).
My counselor loves me and told me that she gave me the best recommendation possible, and I am pretty confident that my other rec was good too (the teacher is known for writing amazing recommendation letters).
I applied to Steinhardt, to be an elementary education major.

Didn’t mean to bore everyone with all of my stats :stuck_out_tongue: I’m just sooo nervous, and pretty much everyone at my school is staying local, and already has acceptance letters which makes it worse!

^ I think you’re pretty much in  Good luck!!!

omg i am so nervous!! and im right there with you guys! my parents asked me the same thing, “what do you want for christmas?” NYU MERCH! haha i really hope i get in, this is the ONLY school i have ever wanted to attend!

Dear NYU-Stern admissions team,

I love your school more than anything in the world.
Please accept me. I promise I won’t bring shame to your name.

Bye
