HAHA AudreyH that is exactly what a lot of us are probably thinking right now.

Oh my god, I am so nervous! I probably won’t get in since my grade isn’t on-par with all of you guys, but I still have hope! I just want to know if i get in or not so it will stop stressing me out!

Haha Audrey, my thoughts exactly!! I can’t stand this wait anymore!!!

My only worry is my SAT scores aren’t amazing. I’m terrible at those kinds of tests.

I don’t really have one specific aspect of my application that I’m worried about…it’s more just like a general overall fear that I somehow won’t be good enough :/

Only 25 days more.

And those 25 days are gonna go by SO SLOWLY.

Kelryry im right there with you. im so bad at standardized test i have a 97% average but i suck at those kinds of tests. i live in chicago so i took the ACT here and my score wasnt terrible but i dont think it was good enough for NYU grrrrrr this waiting game is killing me! i just want to know so i can stop stressing haha

A 97% average is way above the A- average that NYU reported as the mean HS GPA of their students…I’m sure they’ll take that into consideration as balancing out your ACT score as long as you didn’t completely bomb it :)

@hayleyelisa thats my fear exactly.
i dunno what im gonna do if i dont get it. nyu is my dream.

yeah i didnt bomb it thank god. and yep thats just like me, NYU has been my dream since i was 12 :)

I got a 510 on Math (I’m SO bad at math. But I applied to Tisch and they say they don’t care as much there.) and 600 on CR and English.
ACT was 31 on CR and 27 on English.

Does anybody know which schools are the hardest to get into academically? Obviously Stern is the most difficult, but what would you say is next? CAS maybe? One person from my school got into CAS last year, and his grades were much better than mine. I’ve been obsessively trying to figure out where Steinhardt falls haha, it’s probably not healthy how invested in this I am.

this is a terribly stupid question, and is off topic… BUT what’s the difference between a weighted and un-weighted gpa? (i’m trying to work mine out)

It’s weighted if your school gives honors points for accelerated classes. Unweighted if you’re just calculating your grades flat out, not adding anything else.

Yeah, I really don’t know what I’m gonna do if I don’t get in. Ugh. I’ve put off submitting my applications to other schools until after I find out because they’re not due til January 1st and I don’t want to waste money on application fees if I do get into NYU, but at the same time I know I’ll be in no mood to start dealing with applications again if I don’t get in Ughh.

And @Tessa, I’ve done a crazy unhealthy amount of research on all things NYU and the hardest schools to get into are Tisch and Stern, and Tisch is selective based on talent, not academics, so I would assume that CAS, Steinhardt, Silver, etc. are all relatively the same in terms of academic selectivity…

@ hayleyelisa omg I’ve definitely done an insane amount of research on NYU too
I’m going to be so upset if I don’t get in :(

winniehuang, hayleyelisa - let me join the insane amount of research club. i think i’ve browsed all parts of the stern page that is humanly possible, and have even watched youtube videos on NYU and Stern -__-

I’ve also put off submission to other schools until my NYU decision comes back… gah I’m so obsessed with getting in.

Oh my gosh I’ve YouTubed stuff too! Haha aw it’s nice to know there are others in the same boat of obsession as me I hope we all get in!

hahahahaha I youtube nyu stern too And i watch the videos so frequently that it may even be considered to be borderline creepy haha.
I’m just trying to find a way to not obsess over it so much otherwise the disappointment at the rejection will only be greater :(
