I’ve been wanting to get out of HS since junior high.

As a senior already accepted into his top choice… I. Can’t. Freakin’. Wait.

Cheers, mate.
Same situation here.

I can’t wait to go somewhere new.

As a senior accepted into his top choice but forced to turn it down because of finances, school is more frustrating because of having to wait until march/April.

You guys DO know there are a lot of stupid people in college too, right?

Are you guys fricking kidding me?

High School has been the most precious time of my life! :)

I am dreading that I only have 11 weeks left here :(

College will just be more work and more of the same stupidity. I’m pretty nihilistic about the whole thing.

It’s not necessarily that I hate high school: I have awesome friends, a fairly decent social life, and am on the basketball team (luv it!). But I look forward to college as one of those new things that await me that I can’t wait to experience. And I know a lot of you say college is just like high school with students just 4 years older, but I say I CAN’T WAIT! WOOHOO!

If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. Seriously, the attitude you currently have towards high school will do nothing other than make your mental state horrible, and it’s only going to get worse as your attitude becomes entrenched and your negative thoughts towards high school blind you from anything else. You need to start focusing on the positives of high school, and disregard the negatives, otherwise, you’re going to suffer from depression. Depression in your teenage years is very undesirable, and a lot of people have committed suicide in their teenage years as a result of depression due to their negative thoughts and attitudes.

I agree with the poster above me. If you seriously find high school this horrible then don’t expect college to be ‘magically’ better.

It’s your attitude.

Wowee…

Going to a place where the general intellect, creativity and motivation is higher WILL result in a better experience. Often none of the above are found at a public high school. (There are, of course exceptions to to be found at all schools).

You may want to read The Teenage Liberation Handbook. It’s well worth reading if you want to change your experience, not just get through it! :)

OP: I completely feel you. As a matter of fact, when I was reading your post, I thought that we were the same person!

Being “badass” is horribly annoying.
