<p>As biased as I am towards UCLA, I must admit that the curriculum probably won’t be easier there than at Berkeley.</p>

<p>@Cayton is right (as usual lol). Don’t turn down Berkeley because it seems too challenging or the academics are too cut-throat. UCLA is not an easier alternative. Both might push you to your limits but neither will break you. </p>

<p>While it is frightening, it’s worth noting that most people don’t have mental breakdowns in response to dealing with challenging coursework. What’s far more likely is that he had some kind of latent predisposition for mental breakdowns and unfortunately, it manifested itself during his time at Berkeley. I wouldn’t blame it on the school whatsoever.</p>

<p>Still, Berkeley’s reputation for rigorous STEM majors is well-earned. </p>

<p>I SIR’d to UCLA, screw it. I got away from the all the rankings/prestige jargon and realized I need to where I felt was the right fit. UCLA has a bigger variety of Econ/Math/Finance classes as well. I am an LA native and I don’t see myself going out of the OC/LA area, so UCLA seemed right. </p>
