WHO RE-TOOK THEIR SATs (2300+)!?

I'm kinda freaking out because I haven't prepared for my SATs in April (lol, a week left!) and yeah.

I made a post similiar to this, but I started freaking haha.

-Any CC'ers here who retook and got accepted in HYPS, etc?
-Better yet, any CC'ers who retook and got 2300+?
-Is it bad to just retake a 2200 (projected score) to get a 2300+?

Thankx!

I can't answer your first two questions, but as for the last one, I don't think so. A 2300+ is definitely better than a 2200.

No way would I retake on a 2200 score. The SAT is important, but it isn't important enough to try and get a minor gain of 100 points or less. If you did that well, you should already be in the 99th percentile or something.

i retook a 2180 but i went down so i guess i cant help you

"2200 (projected score)"

Why don't you ask after your April scores come out? It's not too late to plan then.

Well, I'm retaking a 2270 (from October)...I'm don't know if this was the best decision, though :(

I would say 2250+, dont retake.

Man. If I can score an 1800+, I would not retake.

Years and years ago, there were disadvantages to retaking the SATs. Now adays, most schools, even HYPSMB, take the highest scores from multiple retakes.

My D went from a 2180 to a 2250 after about 20 hours of study. (2270 mixing and matching).

is it true that your SAT score and your grade kind of balance out? For instance, if you have a 4.0 or above then your SAT score can be about the 1800 range or so and vice versa. Would an 1800 be consider as a low score?
