Who said the Pac-10 is a weak conference?

^ good idea, but your veteran receiving corps is gone.

personally, i would NOT be surprised if djax stays. he isn't even 3rd team all-america, and only made the pac-10 team as an all-purpose player. i think another year would serve him very well. plus, we have that 4-star recruit coming in, i think we'll manage. our receivers coaches are top-notch

So, you agree spread offense will serve our team well?

PS) I think Jackson will leave. He's probably disgusted enough with the team so that he doesn't want to come back. Plus, his draft status now should be higher than a year from now. In this year's draft, he doesn't have to worry about Crabtree, Maclin, and some other young receivers declaring for the draft.

At least a new offensive coordinator would simplify the playcalling.

Jesus H. Christ...from that huge menu of plays Tedford has in his hands, surely there is some more creative play than running it up the middle 3 f'n times...only to be stuffed.

nope, spread O won't work with Longshore; he can barely walk to class. Tedford is too stubborn to give the job to Riley. With a little luck, Cal will end up with no bowl, and have the holidays to contemplate what might have been.

CBS Sportsline is projecting Cal to go to the Las Vegas Bowl and play BYU.

Geez, we're gonna get killed like Oregon was last year against BYU if we keep playing like we've been.

BYU needs to move out of the Mountain West Conference...they're a good team and seem to only get to the Las Vegas Bowl every year.

USC is projected to play Illinois in the Rose Bowl! That's great for Illinois. We'll have to see how the whole BCS mess is sorted out tomorrow afternoon.

That's why have Riley in spread offense.
Here are my projections, we will see how it comes out in BCS tomm.

NC game: OSU vs. LSU
Orange: VT vs. West Virginia
Fiesta: Oklahoma vs. Arizona State(hopefully) or Kansas
Sugar: Georgia vs. Hawaii
Rose: USC vs. Illinois

This was a crazy year for sure huh?

elmo:

concur on Riley, altho I don't think they need the spread O -- Cal just needs a more mobile QB.

For stat gurus: 1) what is Nate up to now, 14-4th quarter picks against zero touchdowns? 2) has a Tedford Cal team ever come back from a 4th quarter deficit? (Most wins resulted from large point productions in first halves, I think.)

so are we going to a bowl game? Media said Emerald Bowl, is this likely true?

the Chronicle, who had a reporter sitting with the Emerald Bowl rep during the Big Game, also said it was likely since 'Zona lost.

when does that BCS show start?

sheed: 5pm, on ESPN and Fox

i started disliking the lsu coach since he made negative comment about the pac-10 before this season started. he seemed to have a habit of reminding people they got the best team with best talents. is he insecure or what? i also think he seemed to "act" a lot in front of camera--trying to look tough, arrogant, or whatever. does anyone else feel the same?

i think oklahoma is a better team than lsu. anyway, i will be rooting for ohio state!

i will NOT be rooting for osu, esp after what herbstreit, an osu alum, did to michigan on saturday. geaux tigers, i hope they kick the crap out of osu

what about mizzou being left out for kansas though? what complete bs!

yea...i am looking for someone to explain the choice of kansas over mizzou.

even the bcs ranking puts mizzou ahead of kansas. so this is really strange. in the past, we had controversial choices before but at least we could say the bcs ranking said so. now i don't even know what the basis is.

i think bcs committee owes everyone an explanation.

Who thinks Hawaii should be in the Sugar Bowl?

Armed Forces Bowl, baby!

Breaking news: Cal’s headed to the Armed Forces Bowl - College Hotline - San Jose Mercury News sports blog

Now, obviously, that wasn't exactly what we envisioned in the beginning of the season. But hey, it's still a bowl, even if only a minor one. Like I said before in this thread, it wasn't that long ago when Cal would have counted its blessings just to get into any bowl, or heck, to even win a single game in the Pac10. {Again, recall that in 2001, Cal went 0-for-the-entire-conference.}

Armed Forces Bowl? What the heck?
