I’m a HS senior in South America who wants to study Industrial Engineering. I’m planning on asking my English teacher (because he knows me well, we have a good relationship and I’m very good at his subject and he knows it) and my Physics teacher because his subject is related to my intended major and can write good stuff about me too. Do you think that instead of asking my English teacher for one I should ask my Chemistry or Math teacher instead, since I want to study Engineering? Will two scientific recommendation letters make my app stronger or is it the same as asking my English teacher for one?
Do the colleges you’re target require ANY rec letters? Many colleges require zero. If a college wants ONE, then submit the physics teacher. If two, the I’d say use the English teacher as your second – schools will be very interested in your ability to communicate your ideas. Your grades/test scores will already show your scientific potential. Good luck
