Who tells me I qualify for a Pell Grant?

<p>I thought the governement tells me, but apparently that's incorrect. My EFC is $1740, so I think I should qualify for a Pell Grant. However, I haven't heard anything from anybody. So, who makes the final decision?</p>

<p>Your financial aid award letter will list Pell and any other grants.</p>

<p>Your EFC from the FAFSA correct? On your SAR, look on the third page of the PDF (or I guess HTML too, but I haven't checked that). It tells you if you are eligible for Pell. I think 1740 is.</p>

<p>The government says you qualify if your EFC is less than $3800 (thereabouts). The Pell ranges from $400 to $4000 but I don't know the breakdown on that.</p>
