Haha i know it's kind of a misleading title, but if you bunk your beds in a dorm is there any way of convincing your roommate to be on top (lol)?
I would hate to have bunked beds and have to climb to the top every night. -_-

I did. But only because I have a kind of hilarious sleeping problem where I get up and yell in the middle of the night while i’m asleep, so i would be prone to rolling, running off the bed and dying. hahah!!!

The eaisest way is to get there first, bunk the beds, and set up shop on the bottom bunk. Another thing to conisder is switching beds after a semester. I don’t know anyone who did that, but its always an option.

As for sleeping on the bottom bunk, I’ve heard some pretty awkward stuff about having that bed too.

Switch beds after the fall semester.

Get a Chainsaw and cut the bunk bed in two, and then grab the upper portion and place it adjacent to the other bed. Now you can both sleep on the bottom!

yeah but it saves space

Like Venkat said, make sure you get there first and whatever bunk you want is all yours.

Perhaps you’ll luck out and get one of those weirdos who like the top bunk (like me).

i want the loft bed!

It saves room but they’re a pain in the ars. Just loft the beds up and store your junk under there. If you’re in a double, you can make 2 separate beds work in a dorm room.

I want the loft bed too! But I’m 75% sure I’ll be doing marching band, so I’ll definitely get there first (by a few weeks!)

You always enjoy being on the bottom?

:]

I couldn’t do bunk beds. I’d hate to be on top, and the idea of someone sleeping above me is kind of an odd one. (Especially if he decides to have someone over)

I’ll just raise my bed as high as possible.

i dont get what the big deal is. is there any real difference between being on the top or bottom of the bunk? (obviously ive never slept in a bunk bed)

I vaguely recall when I was 9 years-old and at summer camp and I slept on the bottom bunk beneath a chronic bed-wetter.
Never-****ing-again.

getting in at 3 am and climbing on desks because stacked beds dont have ladders while your roommate is trying to sleep sucks. and having to climb down every morning isn’t fun either. plus a lot of the time there’s only like 3’ of crawlspace up there. and if you’re not used to sleeping 8’ off the ground thats kind of weird.

its not the worst thing ever, but its a hassle and less comfortable.
