I don’t believe you can say Miles would have brought us back by this date and Hoke will take us longer. It’s up in the air with whoever we get.

For the record, I think Miles would probably have been better than Hoke. At this point, pretty much everyone dislikes Hoke, lol.

Also, at this point, I think we should have kept RRod. Well, I wanted to keep him from the beginning but now we are definitely in “We should have kep RRod” territory.

Also, some of this anger for not getting our top guys is gonna start coming back at Brandon. He fired RRod and didn’t even have Harbaugh or Miles secured. So now you are firing RRod to get Hoke? Idk aobut that.

MLDWoody, Hoke is a better option than RR. Trust me, Michigan would have gone 4-8 at best next year and 3-9 in 2012. RR does not believe in Defense or Special teams. With the horrible defense we had, you would expect ***** and **** defensive recruits to flock to Michigan by the dozen. We did not get a single one. Is RR’s 5-19 Big 10 record ok for you? Is his 0-9 record vs OSU, PSU an MSU ok for you? Is the fact that his defense this year was the worst in the nation and the worst in the history of Michigan football? Guess what, before this year’s dubious record, 2009 was Michigan worst defense in history.

That said, I agree that Brandon is going to face some heat. How on earth does he not secure Harbaugh or Miles? That is truly pathetic. Those men were dying to come to Michigan. Brandon must have given them very little incentive.

Neither of those things are fine with me, I don’t know why you think I would be cool with that. To say a HC doesn’t believe in 2/3 of the game is silly. RRod knew his best shot at succeeding was getting his guys in here asquickly as he could. And what does he do very well? Offense. If the defensive recruits suffer for a year or two so be it (even though we did pick up a 5 star recruit) because apparently these Michigan fans are super impatient and need to have something right now.

Also, how do you figure we get worse the next 2 years RRod is here? That makes no sense at all. Almost everyone returns. Most of our O returns. Denard returns. Our injured defensive players get back out on the field. We get this recruiting class with a top HB and some good defensive players. All the guys that are already there get another year to grow. It makes no sense to say we get worse. That just sounds like blind bias against RRod.

Now if you want to continue this debate can we atleast throw it over to the “It’s Hoke” thread, I’d like to keep up on stuff over there.

P.S. I thought your ***** and **** (5 and 4 star) were swear words first read, haha.

P.S.S. I wanted to keep RRod but hire a new DC. One that took a big role in reshaping and improving the D. (NO 3-3-5)

From mgoblog:

"David Brandon just led the worst coaching search in the history of Michigan football. He managed to chase off half of an already iffy recruiting class, hired a Plan C coach on January 11th, probably ensured the transfer of the reigning Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, and restricted his “national search” to people who’d spent at least five years in Ann Arbor. Michigan just gave themselves a year of USC-level scholarship reduction voluntarily.

What are the chances that the best available coach is a 52-year-old with a 47-50 career record and no experience as a coordinator? Why weren’t a half-dozen coordinators with time and results on their side given the opportunity to interview? Why did Brandon waste time with Les Miles, a guy on the downside who may not have even gotten a serious offer? After learning a hard lesson about program continuity with the last hire why did Michigan hire a guy who professes to hate the spread ‘n’ shred a day after two spread teams played for the national title?"

If you were Devin Gardner, would you be looking to transfer?
