Well guess what. It's my first semester here at Cal and..

I'm on the borderline for all my classes.

If I do good on my finals, I will end up with about a 3.7 maximum. (A-)
If I do badly on my finals, I will end up with about a 3.3 minimum. (B+)

So here's my question.

I'm going to apply to Haas (just like the 2395 others at Cal..) and I was wondering if I had a chance at Haas even with a 3.3 in first semester.

If I suck it up and try really hard, I'll probably get a 3.85~ by the end of sophomore year.

...Do you think that'll be enough for Haas? (Assuming I do all the generic resume stuff, but including an internship with PwC/GS over freshmen summer.)

I still don’t understand people who do poorly the first time around to put that much faith in their future if they “suck it up.”
The thing is, why didn’t you “suck it up” this semester? What makes you think you’ll do it in the future. Idk, it’s a major pet peeve of mine when people project high but perform low, still hoping on “someday.”

Whatever. I agree, you’re fine, just stay steady and be uniquely well-rounded, as for any application process.

“Hai gais, I got a 1.3 my first sem at CALLLL GO BEARRSSSSSSSSSSS i no i no its not so gud but liek if i get 4.0 on everything until graduation i kno i can becuz all my high school teachers say i has motivation and mad skill i liek get 3.66, can i get in grad school? lthnxbai”
