Thanks AdmissionsDaniel and everyone else for information on the ED pool!
The countdown has begun… :)

I had a tour today guys! I fell in love all over again…:)) The campus is totally me and I hope to be accepted.

Ah, I was so close to applying ED here. The more I learned about Hopkins, the more I loved it. But I ended up deciding on RD instead because I haven’t actually visited campus yet (but from what I’ve seen from photos, the campus is gorgeous!) and it gives me more time to really improve my essays. :)

Good luck to you all though!! I really do believe that Hopkins Admissions are good at determining a candidate’s “fit”, so don’t worry too much. You’ll be happy wherever you end up.

I applied without visiting because I have been around the area, but not the actual campus and I loved the harbor. Baltimore has a lot of homeless people though. This school is great and I can work on my music, poetry, and writing in this little artsy section they have. I would have done ED if I were you. They pictures are a great representation of Hopkins and Baltimore may not be the safest, but the campus is REALLY safe. Overall, Hopkins went beyond the expectations of my parents and myself. :)

Ah, I see, I see. I’m actually not too worried about safety. I know Hopkins has excellent campus security. My parents are just convinced I’d freeze and wouldn’t be too happy there since I’m from SoCal. Haha. This is actually the only school I’m really interested in outside of California.

It’s a trivial reason, but still one to take into account. So, I’m doing RD to relieve my parents’ worries. They just want me to have spent a little time in the area before I decide where to commit for the next four years.

And who knows? I may be joining some of you in this thread at JHU next fall. We’ll see what happens, eh?

Yeah I’m from N. Virginia so the weather isn’t too much of a biggie. I love the weather here though. Losts of variety. Basically we get seasons, but Cali is great too. If I don’t get into Hopkins I’m looking into UCLA. But yeah, hopefully we will all be 2016 Blue Jays!

Just about a month left, guys!:))

So anxious. I’ve spent the past two weeks finding tons of little things wrong with my submitted application and agonizing over somehow missing a word that should have been capitalized in my main essay haha. It probably doesn’t matter, but it’s driving me crazy.

@geeky same here. I’m reading and rereading my essays. I found a mistake, but it works with or without the word I missed because I wrote it in another language. So they probably won’t catch it…:)

Gahhhh I cant wait another month ahaha. When do we find out already :PP!!!

:) dec 15 will be here before we know it.

lol good luck all of you… I remember how I felt about this time last year- wasn’t easy. It’s my belief that regardless where you go, it’s fate that drives you to the right school. I know several people who got rejected from their dream school and couldn’t be happier where they go now. As for the midyear report, don’t worry too much. I held all A’s my Freshman, sophomore, junior, and 1st quarter of senior years in my high school and I had 3 B’s in my midyear report. They don’t care so long as you don’t stop working. I mean I know a freshman here now who dropped a lot (to a C avg). He got an angry letter and all, but he still didn’t get rescinded- though I don’t recommend you try that.

Anyway, good luck to all of you and hope to see you guys at SOHOP ;)

Hey guys, I have a quick question. When I go onto my Hopkins supplement on the CommonApp, I can’t see the supplemental essays that I submitted! I can see all of my CommonApp stuff though. Does this mean there was an issue with submitting my supplemental essays?? Can you guys see your supplementary essays? I’m so worried:/

i can’t view them either, i think it’s supposed to be that way. but if you go to “print preview” at the bottom of the supplement screen, you should be able to see your essays. hope this helps

Thanks for your response! But I can’t see them under print preview either! I called the admissions office and they said that once they are done processing applications, they will let me know if anything is missing from my file. But I thought that reading/evaluations already started so I’m wondering how they’re evaluating my app without my supplements:(

Hi everyone, so, for the SAT II scores, i know that JHU recommends 3, but if i only broke 700 on two of them, should i still send in the 3rd one??

thanks

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone :)

@jordanfirst

my sat II scores weren’t phenomenal (710 - 740 range) but i sent 3 anyway. i don’t think standardized test scores in general are weighted as much as essays, ECs, and things like that. good luck!

19 more days!!!..eeeeep, I am scared… ;)
