@AdmissionsDaniel

¡Muchas Gracias!

Ahh I see there are only a handful of us EDers. Glad I could join.

I’m a junior… Yet, I still feel nervous as hell about applying to Hopkins :////

You shouldn’t be worried about CC right now, you’ve got a full year before you’re in our shoes (I know that sounds awkward, but yea, haha).

Yeah seriously, don’t worry about colleges yet if you’re a junior.
focus on your GPA, standardized test scores, and course selection. specific colleges and worrying about them won’t do you any good :)

I applied ED but was just emailed today by JH that I was missing my ED agreement (my counselor forgot to send her end). They said I have until Dec 2nd to send it in (which I could totally do), but I’m worried it could hurt my chances. Some people say its just a formality and that the error wouldn’t have any impact on the actual reviewing of the application. Any takes?

If you receive a message about missing application items, as you clearly did today, just follow the instructions in the message and get the missing items to our office by the deadline. Your application review will not be impacted in any way. As I always write when people ask about checking the status of their application or inquiring about missing application materials:

AdmissionsDaniel, you are so helpful! Thanks a lot for everything!

Yes AdmissionsDaniel, thanks for all your help- not just on these forums but for providing so much information through other internet resources!

This is one of the things I love the most about Hopkins. I feel like I know the people who work in admissions and the students who are a part of SAAB. I visited Hopkins and met a lot of the staff (felt like I was meeting celebrities when I met the student bloggers lol- I am a frequent Hopkins-Interactive visitor) and everyone was so open and friendly! I hope to be a part of SAAB one day:) 16 days, guys! Good luck! <3 Hop.

@fishmonster I got that tpp and started freaking out but yeah it doesn’t do much.

@AdmissionsDaniel has been helping me out ever since I wanted to go to Hopkins. Thanks again!!!

Sent from my SPH-M920 using CC App

Nervous as hell for my birthday, Dec. 15

@verymild Happy Early Bday and good luck. Maybe your acceptance is your bday present? If I get in, my x-mas present is going to be a JHU hoodie.

Wow. December 1st and 2 weeks left until decisions!

Just had my interview yesterday and also applying ED! Hope I get in :)

How much emphasis is put on an interview in terms of admission? I never had mine and when I tried to schedule one back early November, EVERYTHING was booked. I was a little late…

None or very little. The admissions office realizes not everyone can have an interview. It’s a way for you to learn about Hopkins and get to know the place and student life better. I didn’t have an interview and I’m typing this in my dorm as we speak.

Thanks for the info @bleedblue12345
I was unable to schedule an interview also.

Do you love Hopkins??!? I really hope I get in :O

Agreed with bleedblue12345, My interview was mainly focused on getting to know more about Hopkins, which was great for me because I never had a chance to visit campus before my application.

Guitarman,

It’s a great place to be, but I’m sure there are a lot of schools that would serve you, me, or anyone else well. The academics here are great, but it really is what you make of it. Some people are doing very well here and others are having a tough time. The one thing I think I didn’t take into account when applying is realizing that college is just another part of life. Even if you get into a great school it doesn’t magically make deadlines disappear or the workload diminish. The laundry still has to be done and the books still have to be read. College is not the end all be all of life, that’s what I wish I wish I had a better handle on. So many teachers, parents, and students build it up to be this grand experience that it is not all the time. There’s even an entire website built on the “college experience” that we happen to be using… But yes, Hopkins so far has been fantastic and I am grateful to have been admitted.
