Who's applying for Fall transfer 09'-Cornell?

I hate to be the party-pooper, and I want to feel excited too to be expecting decisions so quick, but I don’t think they’ll be out this quick. My guess is the 1st decision will be out April 25th or later. I really don’t think any earlier than the 25th. But hey, I hope more than anything else that I’m wrong.

yeah… hope decisions will come out this week but highly doubt it.

hy whats up remy

yeah I don’t know…all dates aside even, just from the beginning, it seems like next monday might be the earliest for the 1st app that the adcoms saw. Remember when the decisions notifications page was still up for the freshmen applicants? Cornell has said a few places that once the application is under review, it will take 2-3 weeks for a decision. I’d expect 3, but if that’s what they say, then maybe it really is 3 weeks after. Oh I do have a question! For those of you who sent in your AP and SAT scores, how do you know they were received? The Freshman and Transfer admissions offices are different and you never specify what address you want the scores sent to. And there is no status update on your Cornell page. What is Collegeboard is sending it to the Freshman admissions office since that’s where they’re sent the first time? And secondly, I had a 2nd letter sent in to Cornell about one of my grades. How do I know they’ve received it?

P.S. So glad that the Americans work on Friday and Monday this weekend. More application review time. Here in Canada, Good Friday and Easter Monday have been holidays. :-D

hmm i’m glad i got caught up while still in the caribbean ha. otherwise i’d be slightly depressed. i left my appid information at home and i can’t check if mine has gone through or not. but good luck guys! this is all that’s left :)

…time to go to the beach hahaha
happy holidays!

Gosh Cornell has everything that I can imagine or think of!!! So many clubs in which I am so interested in!! <3!!!

Before Cornell updated its website, it showed that I had all my stuff in cause I had green checks down the screen. Now, with the new site, it says “Application for Admission Submission Status: Not Submitted.” This means what?

IM not sure… Did you pay for the supplement?

I got a few waiver for everything

well if they are missing something, im sure they will contact you. Or you can call them tomorrow and ask them what ur application status mean.

Looking at last year’s thread (all 781 posts or so in an hour and a half) I’d have to say as a Junior CAS transfer who was probably one of the very last people to submit all their materials…I’m not expecting a decision now until May 10th all the way until the beginning of June…which kinda sucks

hopefully most of you aren’t junior transfers and aren’t applying to cas (and go your materials in a while back) so you will start hearing in the last few days of April/beginning of May.

But still I don’t think the bulk of people will start hearing until May 5th or later…it seemed that way from last year’s thread

zirtco, regarding SAT scores, i think college board submits them to cornell electronically, there is probably a backend software program of some kind that allows cornell to sync up the applicant database to SAT scores. i wouldn’t worry, i’m sure they have your scores in the right spot. :)

does it matter if you were one of the first to submit your app? I submitted mine in January for CAS as a jr. transfer. I just found out that another school needs to hear from me by may 1st to see if i’m going to register. erg.

jr transfer means sophmore transfering for a junior standing? or a transfer who is currently in their junior year 0_o

jr. transfer means a sophomore transferring in as a junior. i think, at least that’s what i am. most of my GE is done, time to focus on my major.

JR Transfer means that if you were accepted, then you would be a junior.
Soph Transfer means that if you were accepted, then you would be ae Sophomere.
And ilivefree, if you read the thread last year, juniors get their decisions longer because they have to go through the admission committee and if accepted, they go through the department head and if accepted by them, then u get ur decision. So juniors get their decision a little later than the sophomores.

oh so i’m a junior transfer…god damnit. whyyyyyy.

ilivefree:

Just call up Cornell’s admissions and tell them that. You can request for them to put you on a call list. Right after they make your decision, they will call you up and notify you what it is. Otherwise, it takes I think 3-5 days or so for the decision to be posted on the online status page with the “Check your decision” link. Although it might be a little nervewracking to hear by a phone call–but it’s neverwracking any way you find out–by clicking a link, getting something in the mail, etc.

I don’t think that it could possibly hurt for you to have submitted it that long ago (except its a longer time for them to lose it, haha)… it prolly doesn’t make that much of a difference when your app was submitted unless you’re talking about two people, one of whom submitted it way back and the other who just sent out their last materials around the deadline…obviously the first person’s materials they already have and can assemble quicker than the other for review.

There is one other factor that seems to be the case in when you get your decision from last year’s thread. It seems that if you are not a surefire rejection or admisision, you find out later–mid-may to early-june. But it doesn’t mean that you’re more likely to get rejected if you hear later–and as I’ve said from last year many CAS people heard later than others–there are still a lot of acceptions, rejections, etc. even mid-May and beyond.

that would be harsh to have them call u and reject you over the phone!!! I kind of want to request then to call me and tell me if I were accepted ore rejected so I dont have to play the wait game lol.

hey, i was in sales, i’m used to phone rejection in some form or another. no biggie. i’d rather know ASAP than not know. thanks for the tip, burton, i’ll give 'em a shout on monday.

I was confuse about the phone thing cause in last year’s cornell transfer thread, people said that they dont give out decisions over the phone. While others said that they do give decisions over the phone. Which one is it!!!
